The slower it moves the more chance it has to curve out. IMO

This one has my attention. You can figure out the potential if the track errs north on that course.

From those who get GFS early

Gaston moves across E Cuba and to just E of SE FL. It then recurves and misses the US.

If it were moving a bit faster, easily make it to Florida and the Gulf...

Going over Cuba and extremely close to Florida this run

It can always take the short cut across FLA to get to the gulf

My guess is the models are moving this too slow. With that strong of ridging to the north, it will likely move faster.

Looking like a Caribbean system..still too far out to know anything past that.

yeah ivan i agree. it seems that it would move much faster with that strong of a high to the north of it. and the faster it moves, the more west it goes imo.

I think its uncommon sure....usually see something like that in Oct....and even at that those rarely clear the entire state of FL..... could be over doing it a tad....who knows...that trof is pretty much in la la land as far as the GFS goes at that hour...
