Once the ridge strengthens, there will be no NW movement for a while. This is no fish.

Wow, when you see that you realize how nicely this is coming back together. Expanding in size quickly, as well.

Is that a big ULL in front of him, over PR & the northern Islands? Wonder if he will pass above it; it looks to be diving S-SW at the moment.

'it' being the ULL. What is the position of an ULL in relation to a TC that helps ventilate it rather than destroy it?

Continues to become much better organized by the hour....Very symetrical...This one stands a very good chance to eventually have that textbook classic cape verde look..It's also picking up some speed. A sign ridging to the north is building in. Should be due west by morning, then w/sw on sunday..I really hope those in the islands and PR are paying very close attention.

00Z Nam...notice the synoptics...If you want to see a near perfect environment run this loop. Notice the strong ridge builds west with the cyclone. At the same time the TUTT moves w/wsw ventilating the system. With a pattern like this and very warm SST's there is no reason to believe this wont be a monster of a storm.

If a strong ridge is building west, would that mean a more west movement and less likely of a chance of taking a sudden north turn like the GFS has been showing as it enters the Caribbean?

The question is whether or not there is an LLC under there...

Wasn't the LLC clearly visible before the convection built back in?
