Don't know about you but it looks like November out there. Perhaps another burst of tropical activity in a couple of weeks then we are into October....so the cape verde season will be done and quite possibly not one u.s. Landfall from a cape verde system. Based on the hype this year, hard to believe that may happen. May just be wondering if we fall short of the numbers......
You're saying this when we haven't even seen the start of the caribbean/GOM part of the season yet. We still got a loooooooong way to go here people.

I think you are being way too dramatic. I mean really, it looks like November out there. There is plenty more activity to come. We has a TD in the BOC, the gfs and euro develop a wave nearing the African coast, Gaston could still redevelop, and we got a good two months of activity left due to the moderate La Nina and well above normal water temperatures in the Caribbean, the Gulf, and SE U.S.

HE REMNANT LOW OF GASTON...LOCATED ABOUT 525 MILES EAST OF THE
NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS...IS PRODUCING A SMALL BUT PERSISTENT AREA
OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THAT HAS BECOME A LITTLE MORE
CONCENTRATED NEAR THE CENTER OF CIRCULATION. UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE
EXPECTED TO BECOME MORE CONDUCIVE FOR DEVELOPMENT OVER THE NEXT DAY
OR SO...AND MOISTURE SURROUNDING THE LOW SHOULD GRADUALLY INCREASE
AS IT MOVES WESTWARD AT ABOUT 15 MPH. THERE IS A HIGH CHANCE...70
PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE AGAIN DURING
THE NEXT 48 HOURS. HEAVY RAINS AND GUSTY WINDS COULD BEGIN TO
AFFECT PORTIONS OF THE LEEWARD ISLANDS LATE TODAY AND TONIGHT...AND
INTERESTS IN THOSE ISLANDS SHOULD MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF THIS
SYSTEM.

Gustav? LOL....that was a few years ago....Easy to confuse tho.
Just not getting much model support from any of the big guys (CMC, EURO). Let's see what the 0z EURO says here in about an hour.

Probably still to small for their radar would be my guess. That or they just hate it.

Im not trying to offend you but every system that forms you seem to persist on it hitting Texas...There are better ways to get thrills. Try a roller coaster.
Bro he never said it was going to hit Texas...have you looked at the models? might not be anything to hit...

Eh. I apologize. Sorry STS. Looking at the models they seem to be shifting south as to hit...Honduras. And im assuming for it to drift WSW it would have to be a wave not a TC.

Funny, the board was chock full of people who said the same exact thing about 50w.

Good point.
Same thing about "wait until Aug. 1, Aug. 15, Sept. 1, now Sept. 15"

That was what we heard about 50W, but it did gain some convection when it passed there. Shear was the main problem and if its going to be letting up, I don't see what will hold it back now.

At this point, I think the thing that will hold it back is the same thing that has held it back for a few days now.
It probably is never going to develop.
50w, 60w; soon to be 70w???
The only reason that I even pay any attention to this is certainly not its appearance but the opinions of the Pro Mets and NHC that there is a better chance than not that this will develop.
As long as they are seeing something I defer to them.
My, amateur opinion is that this will never develop, however I am just that; an amatuer who relies on gut feeling (I do have a rather large gut though

I think if it doesnt develop past...hmm...70W that It is done. If that is the case, pretty sad a storm couldnt develop in the Caribbean in Sept.

I think we definitely will see Gaston as Tropical Depression tomorrow, and I think it could a Tropical Storm if it can stay together through the morning hours, which has been a problem before. And I agree, If it can't get going before 70W, it's done. I think it will though.
Anyways, like fci was saying, take a look at this ROCK...
