93L. It's organizing quickly and 92L is taking more time.

2. SATELLITE DATA INDICATE THAT THE AREA OF LOW PRESSURE LOCATED ABOUT
315 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF THE SOUTHERNMOST CAPE VERDE ISLANDS HAS
CONTINUED TO BECOME BETTER ORGANIZED...AND A TROPICAL DEPRESSION
APPEARS TO BE FORMING. IF CURRENT TRENDS CONTINUE...ADVISORIES
WILL BE INITIATED LATER THIS MORNING...AND WATCHES OR WARNINGS WILL
LIKELY BE REQUIRED FOR PORTIONS OF THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS. THERE
IS A HIGH CHANCE...NEAR 100 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A
TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS AS IT MOVES GENERALLY
WESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH.

I think the rules state that it depends on proximity to land. So the one closer to land would get the first letter ("J" for Julia) and the one further from land would get the second ("K" for Karl).

But both are very near land and would require watches and/or warnings (how odd, eh?). When I voted for 93L yesterday, it was like 13 or 14 votes that 92L would make it, and I was the 5th vote for 93L...how quickly things change in the voting world!

I voted for 93L before it was cool - when it only had 30% of the vote. ;)

I am not a meteorologist, and any posts made by me are not official forecasts or to be interpreted as being intelligent. These posts are just my opinions and are probably silly opinions.

Poll is closed as 93L was the invest that spawned Julia. Thanks to all the members that participated.
