Interesting things happening with Igor over the last half hour or so... If you check out this rainbow loop (http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t1/flash-rb.html) you'll notice two things: 1) the eye has lost its perfect circular shape, perhaps indicating an impending EWRC, and 2) as a result of the irregular shape of the eye, Igor will have to move at about 280-290 to hit its next forecast point.

Eye remains as circular as ever, if we could add more pixels to the image, it would look even more round

When two cyclones approach one another, their centers will begin orbiting cyclonically about a point between the two systems. The two vortices will be attracted to each other, and eventually spiral into the center point and merge. When the two vortices are of unequal size, the larger vortex will tend to dominate the interaction, and the smaller vortex will orbit around it. This phenomenon is called the Fujiwhara effect, after Sakuhei Fujiwhara.[58]

Are they likely to come withing 800 miles of each other? Farther than that, and the Fujiwhara effect is negligible.

For what it's worth, one can confirm a WSW motion at what appears to be about 255`- 260` according to the latest model plots XTRP.

If Igor really is moving slightly south of west right now, I don't see how it will suddenly start moving WNW as soon as the NHC thinks.
