If I hear anything from my daughter who is on the Carnival Ectasy heading "into the eye of the storm" I will post it here. They should be in Progresso tomorrow and Cozumel on thursday if they don't change the route of the cruise due to Karl.

In Southern Belize weather is overcast, calm and dry, Love FM radio report at 8.35am says although rain in Corazol and Orange Walk has been steady and constant since 4am, winds have not been major approx 25mph gusts and there are no reports currently of flooding or damage. Belize got real lucky on this one. :D

Have you heard from your daughter yet? Know they are in our thoughts and prayers. Fortunately, ships are so well informed on the weather conditions that they always steer clear of the storms. I wonder if they will be able to keep their original route.

My kids are doing fine. They did get a note on board last night that said they weren't going to port in Progresso, but from what I read they apparently did. Had some rain and a little wind but nothing to really disrupt anything. Looks like Cozumel will be the next stop with Karl far off to the West in the BOC.

so glad to hear their trip hasn't really been interrupted too much by Karl. Thanks for letting us know. I know you will be so glad when they are back home! Have you heard anything else?

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all in Mexico and elsewhere that have been or will be affected by Karl.
Stay safe everyone.

It got rough yesterday afternoon and last night. The noise from the waves slapping the ship and the rockiness of the boat woke my daughter up. They had to close the pool because water was sloshing out of it. The kids were able to go snorkeling at Cozumel but it was raining and cold when they were out at the island where they snorkeled from. Still enjoyed it though. Her husband slept through it all-he is a Navy veteran, so he is used to it. they are on the way back to Galveston today so hopefully the ride won't be as rocky or rainy. Thanks for your concern and prayers everyone.

they just showed some reporters in Veracruz, can't understand what they are saying but it showed some street flooding - not real bad though, and there doesn't seem to be much wind at all. This is supposedly live there from the govt. channel of Veracruz.

Kids are home and fine. Had a great time despite the threat from Karl.
Now Grammy and Granddaddy can rest from a week of granddaughter duty. Don't get me wrong, we loved having her, but I now know why only younger couples have babies.
