Gall Bladder Attack

#1 Postby dizzyfish » Sat Oct 02, 2010 4:05 pm

Geez Louise, Holy Moses and hecky durn - that's some painful stuff! They hauled me outta work yesterday morning straight to the ER. Looks like I will be having surgery in the near future. I go to my primary doc Monday and then on to the surgeon. UGH

You young folks need to pay attention to what you eat and drink NOW - it will affect your health for the better or worse in the future. (and may even bite you on the butt) I'm sure what I say here won't have any effect on what people do - but I had to say it. PLEASE take care of yourself.

BTW you are more susceptible to this if you are overweight, female, native american, diabetic or have a history in your family of gall bladder problems.

Take care everyone.

You'll do fine dizzy but i will still include you in my prayers! My niece had hers out when she was in her mid 20's and that was just a few years ago. They did it laproscopically and she has the tiniest of scars.

Dizzy sending prayers your way for a quick and painless recovery. Knock on wood, I haven't had gall bladder problems, but the one kidney stone I have had is enough to last me a lifetime. I hear gall bladder can be horribly painful too, so got you lifted in prayer like I said. Keep us posted.

Surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday. Hoping for the easy surgery but may have to do the "old fashioned" surgery because it is inflammed. Yuck!

Feel like garbage today. Oh well.

Eating just little bits here and there and NO fat. So much for comfort food.

The only person I know that had gall bladder attack and surgery was my aunt. I know it was very painful for her as well.

Best of luck with the surgery. At least you were around people when the attack happened so they could get you the help you needed.

Got the call this evening to be at the hospital at 5:15 in the morning. No word on the scheduled surgery time and I won't know which surgery he was able to perform until I wake up.

I do hope to be home on Wednesday. *crosses fingers*

Thanks for the well wishes and prayers everyone!

I will check in when I can.

I'm back!

Laparoscopic surgery. They didn't make me stay overnight either! All in all I am doing well but still sore, sore, sore - moreso today than yesterday. Lots of sleeping for the past couple of days but I feel more like myself this morning.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and well wishes, that means a lot to me.

Boy, they sure do give you some "interesting" drugs don't they? :double:

So glad that you are home! But take it easy like the Doctor said, Even though it was not major surgery, it was still surgery you had. You don't want to go back to the hospital, do you.

Hehehe. Yep they do. That is one of the reasons they tell you to take it easy for a few days-to give your system time to get rid of them. Glad it didn't turn out to be major surgery. Keep doing what the docs said. Still sending prayers for healing and no pain.

That's great news! Give yourself time to heal. You'll probably feel like you can do more than you actually will be able to.

Drugs can be a beautiful thing....legally.
