Re: EPAC season over?
With an industrial grade Major in June I would say that EPAC did start. Just ran out of gas. This year is rather like 1995 which had its last named storm in late September. It'll be a long shot to get one going in EPAC this month given the intensity and phase of the ENSO and PDO.

Re: EPAC season over?
I think we'll see one more storm out of the EPAC.
One strange year was 1996. Despite only 8 named storms forming, 4 of them impacted Mexico as hurricanes. (Alma, Boris, Fausto, and Hernan)

What a strange EPAC season, it's like it knew that it had to produce as much ACE as possible in June because conditions were going to be hostile the rest of the year. I think it may be over, maybe one weak depression more but I can't see anything stronger than that.

With nino 3.4 area at -1.8C, meaning almost a strong La Nina, I can't see anymore TC formations in that basin.
