Looks like convection is still weakening off, may well end up just being a low pressure soon if this keeps up.

I've seen *many* better looking lows in the subtropics then this system that have been totally ignored by the NHC in the past and were likely at least subtropical as well...

Well, well...we've made it to Otto, and it is only the beginning of October. Will be interesting to see if he manages to make the transition today, and if that ball of convection makes it and sticks around this time.

I'm guessing there is no more recon for this system, though? Surprised there are not any research flights...this would of been a great system to study.

Quite possibly that is starting to occur, still looks probably subtropical but its closer at least in terms of apperence then it has been in the last 36hrs...

Otto is quite attractive as of late. I'm on board with the tropical transition, this latest blowup seems to be concluding the cycle. First a nice LLC seems to have developed, now a big blowup.

Definitely looks tropical now. Look for a reclassification shortly.

Yeah we have TS Otto, convection not that impressive with it mind you still forecasted to become a hurricane!

One deep convective burst over the eastern side of the LLC and thats about it in terms of convection at the moment.
