Wow, that is the exact location I marked as landfall on the 15th.. This has been one of the most accurately forecasted storms (for track) by all agencies.

If it was recorded it would be. Problem is, there's no observer at Davilican to take an ob so it won't qualify. I'm reading elsewhere that there was some sort of ITOP RECON going on for this storm - had a VORTEX message with 890 MB prior to landfall. Guess there would be some argument for a record landfall intensity, however I'm reading that there was some small degredation in the the satellite presentation leading up to the time of landfall - still...no dropsonde or baro reading at landfall point, no record. Record or not, this is gonna be an utter disaster for those in it's path.
