I got nothing but clouds out of it. Haven't had rain here this month yet, not even a drop. Current forecast is no rain till at least mid-week next week.

Same here David. What is interesting is the Rex Blocking pattern depicted via guidance to our W. That is a Spring/Summer Pattern. What month are we in, October? :double:

This is definitely getting weird, which this entire past 5-6 months has been as far as weather is concerned, at least in SE TX. I am now up to 20 days without any rain at all, not even a trace.

How do you spell dry? HOUSTON!!!! 23 days with no rain. Actually had a rogue tstorm to out East yesterday but still nothing here. There have been some puffy white things in the sky today. What are they?  Unfortunately the temps are heading back into the upper 80's too. :grr: :grr: The weather has been beautiful, but someone forgot to tell it to rain at night while we are sleeping so we don't have to water the yards just to keep them alive. WAH!! WAH!! Can I have some gouda cheese with my WHINE?? :cheesy:

You wanna talk about dry? -18.18" rain deficit for the year and -1.79" for just this month. I'll take good ol' sharp cheddar myself!

Yeah, same here. That rain we got last week didn't put a dent in things. It's pretty dry here.

From the NWS homepage:
*Outdoor Burn Ban in effect for all of Southeast Texas
*Outdoor Burn Ban in effect for all of Louisiana
*Moderate to Extreme Drought Conditions Continue

HGX hinting at temps in the lower 40's/upper 30's Saturday morning. Time for some home made chili! :cheesy:

I hate cockroaches too. Cockroach is fitting for those annoying ridges and alofts that deprives us of rain.

I refer you to the first quote. :cheesy: What time should I show up for chili? :?: :D Meanwhile we are probably looking at our second temp record in a row.  Looking at the different winter outlooks posted here on S2K I am starting to wonder if we will have a "winter". Actually, I think some may be surprised by what this winter may bring us. I am not talking huge winter precip events, but a very strong arctic front or three would not be a surprise.

I know some La Nina winters had some big cold blasts like in 1951 and 1989. February and March 1989 was cold.

1989 is one of the analog years being used for this winter. We had a few severe cold blasts that winter but overall it was a mild winter on average.
Tomorrow should be a whole lot cooler than today in SE TX. We set another record high in Houston today with a high of 94f!
