yes it was at least 4.3C today which was enough the break the record. Not only that, winds were light and skies were mainly sunny for a few hours, a triple rare combination at this time of year.

This should be the end of the above freezing conditions though..maybe one more tomorrow. Only 2 days have been sub-freezing during the day so far this October.
When you consider the normal high this time of year is minus 4C 25F, you can see how remarkbale this is.

Record Highs Sat Oct 23 2010

Bluefield WV 77F
Greenwood MS 87F
Honolulu HI 89F tied 1995

IN CANADA

Iqaluit Nun 4.6C 41F

**Continuous snow on the ground wasn’t seen in the capital of Iqaluit until Oct. 24, 2002. Since official weather observations started in 1955, continuous snow cover was only achieved at this late a date on four other occasions.
(now thats 5 other times, since today is October 24 and there still isnt any snow cover in Iqaluit)

I think we are done. It did not seem that hot, but it was windy...so that might have taken the edge off.

Just checked with the NWS office in Jacksonville and we set another record high for today's date of 89 degrees. Every day this week we have set a record high temperature.

Yesterday 10-27-10, Jax reached 90 degrees, which is now the latest date ever in Jacksonville to record 90 degrees. Amazing.

Rain held off just long enough today that I think we tied a record here in Tallahassee today. St. Pete and Tampa also had record highs today.
