I recieved my stem cell transplant 10/14/10. The week before I taken chemo and radiation which gave me nausea and vomiting. Here I am a day after transplant and I'm feeling fine. I am going to be getting a 2 units of blood (which is expected).

Latest I have seen on FB about Durel.
Durel's results came back and he got some stones, but the doctor said that they are small for him to pass and everything else is fine.

Durel, please know how often I think of you during the week. I'm glad the stem cell transplant is done, and I hope you have passed those small stones by now and have good pain meds on board if needed.

It is truly wonderful to hear you're doing ok otherwise and I hope you know we're pulling for you, a lot! Rest easy and lots during this time. :D

From Durel's "Carepages":
I'm sorry I haven't updated this page lately. This is the reason why.

Soon after the transplant, I caught a seizure and some of the aftereffects from the transplant. I don't remember exactly what happened, all I know is that I was in ICU for a couple of weeks. My hands and feet were swollen, and it affected some of my internal organs. From October to around Thanksgiving is a blank to me. Cause of the long layup, I am unable to walk.

Now I am doing therapy here at Mayo. They are looking for a place for me to do therapy in Louisiana, so it may be soon that I will be coming home. I sometimes get platelets or blood transfusions.

Prayers still going out for Durel from me here in Lakeland. My oldest son had a kidney transplant on Sept 2, 2000 and he has been off all medications now for over 2 years now.
