As Iorange55 or Ntwx have opined, time to stop paying so much attention to the models. Storm is at the door step.
Personally, I think that John Basham's outfit has a good handle on things at the moment. I think the storm will unfold a lot like they have it portrayed at the moment. I think heaviest snow north and east, mix in other places, and maybe more ice than some people are banking on.

Look at the high reflectivities coming in from the west. With dewpoints as low as they are, evaporative cooling will lower temps.

I honestly think here in DFW at least there won't be much ice. To me it's looking like a lot of snow or a lot of rain.

Re: Texas Winter 2010-2011
Also, remember that the models struggled greatly during the great "Dozen Inch DFW Doozy" snowstorm last February. Even up to and during the event itself I believe.
If I remember correctly, NWS was still under-forecasting the event even as it was falling heavily in the Metroplex and accumulations had already exceeded their expected totals.
Finally, I think there was some wailing and gnashing of teeth on this board as models forecast a change-over in the I-20 region, something that never materialized.

I think the further east you go in the I-20 corridor, more that ice will be a possible problem.

In Sherman, We are also 42, mostly cloudy
22 Dewpoint as well.
Waiting for temps to fall.
I'm a few miles east of Denison and it's 38 here.
According to the models over the last few days it has been consistant in showing the cold air approaching from the east first.

Ironic thing is I've rarely disagreed with J.B.'s forecast on such events...and yet he's forecasting a heavy, cold rain, right?
Where's the world's greatest weatherman, the late Harold Taft of KXAS-TV, when you need him to help sort out a mess like this and make sense of it all. I miss him, especially on storms like this...

Temp has dropped to 43 here in Weatherford (from 45 two hours ago). Still no precip, but the wind has really picked up.

Did you see any sleet with that precip that moved through your area?

There was a band showing up on radar, I recently went outside to check, nothing at all coming down, light winds.

Gah.
I'm currently in Lewisville and abt a half hour ago I felt some light precip. Drizzle?
I drove up from Austin this morning and did all the stuff I needed to. Now I'm staring at all the weather sites trying to figure out if I can make a run in the early am back to Austin or if I should just sleep late and go home Monday!
I'd leave tonight but I hate driving at night esp if there are downpours.
Sigh.

Ntwx, Iorange55, and others...I just realized what's missing from this storm.
Where's Mississippi State Guy (I think that was his handle)?!?
He nailed the 2009 Christmas Eve storm from several days out and was pretty good on a couple of the others too.

He was only one crazy enough to predict 10 inches for us in our record snowstorm last year.
