Are you talking about snow in Pensacola, Ivanhater? RUC sounding for 00Z and 06Z indicates quite warm air aloft. Not a snow profile. Just cold rain:

Its gonna be a nasty cold rain here. Hope I get to see some sleet. Florida has seen wintry precip 3 times this year. Winter weather advisory surrounding the city. Wonder when we will have one.

Looks like Texas, Arkansas, and extreme Northern Louisiana are going to be the big winners with this storm. I don't think Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia will get as much as previously thought. Just my opinion though. Anyone think there's a possibility of getting a few flakes near the coast with the disturbance coming through midweek? Or in the next week or 2?

Tuscaloosa is under an extremely heavy band of precip. I'm guessing that's why there's the pocket of snow there and eastern MS. Profiles has snow possible BHM north. But everyone else if it isn't already snowing I don't think it will much. Just my opinion.

Your profile says you're in Pensacola. Did you move to Auburn?

Never!

I brought a friend home. At the time it was looking like a good snowstorm here but quickly turned into a major ice storm for this area. I was going to attempt to drive back to Pensacola tonight, but traveling will almost be impossible.

The temps have dropped though, was 44 at noon and is now down to 39.

Yep, seems a pretty big bust, at least for our area. Was supposed to be a heavy rain threat all day through tonight. Like you said rained just enough to get the ground wet and thats it. The back edge is already to Lafayette and all of that is just light rain. Still forecasting widespread rain mixed with sleet through the overnight hours. Don't see it happening. Looks to be over in the next two hours.

Anyone think we have a shot at some snow here in the deep south with the possible midweek system or sometime after that?

You know it's bad when the dude to the north of you is already asking about snow later in the week or next week...

Well, this system is a lost cause, so it's time to start moving forward. The heavy accumulations that were forecast for north and central Ms/Al/Ga, most likely won't materialize in my opinion. Maybe isolated areas, but not widespread.

I don't like that image. Some people evidently aren't taking this as seriously as they should.

No GA posters here? It looks like it's moving into the Atlanta metro area.

Good evening everyone. Well, this system looks to have many areas resemble an ice skating rink unfortunately. Freezing rain and sleet is going to be widespread across Central AL and GA into the Carolinas. Please stay warm for everyone in the affected areas as power outages are likely going to happen. Please be safe and absolutely stay off the roads, unless it is absolutely necessary to do so. Simply far too dangerous situation to take any risks!
