Tonight: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a low around 34. Breezy, with a north wind between 10 and 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Just five miles north of me the forecast is 80% mixed with sleet after midnight. Live just south of Baton Rouge.
Question is where is this coming from?. Radar clearly shows the back edge already east of Baton Rouge with nothing behind. Skies already breaking a little bit.
Forecast has not clearly been updated. They need to update it because precipitation has moved out of your quicker than what some models showed earlier today which they were going by.

It was updated with the afternoon afd which came out around 4:00. Earlier they had a 90% chance of rain and sleet. Obviously they could see the clearing line around Lafayette on radar around that time. Pretty sure they even mentioned it.

Wow, I hope the trees in your are can handle another 1-2 hrs of moderate precipitation.

NWS Jackson, KY is not expecting much until tomorrow, but the current radar trends make me question otherwise.
Was the shift NE forecast by the models, or is the storm having a mind of it's own?
