^ CPC predicts Late Feb/March/April will be warmer and drier. Likely to overwhelm as far as averages go. La Nada. They had Nov/Dec/Jan warmer and drier as well...we know how that went.

This is more important

Canadian is very cold. A bit disorganized as far as shortwaves go but does have Texas fun.

Yep CMC looks nice for those in Central and Southeast Texas. One thing I find interesting is that if you look at the strength and position of the high pressure it looks practically the same as the GFS around the same time frame (It even develops a coastal trough just like the GFS), the biggest difference though is that it pushes the cold air pass the Red river (which I feel is more likely to happen) unlike the GFS.

I could be wrong (which is likely) but I'm starting to gain confidence that we'll see some wintry precip next week. By here i mean North Texas area.

Still a long ways out though. We're finally getting in the non-fantasy range though.

Is there any hope for us in southeast Louisiana? I hate to barge in the TX thread but thought I would throw out that one question. I am asking because I can't read those CMC maps. Most of the other ones I have an idea but those never make much sense to me.

Just an outside thought, anyone look at the JMA? If you look at Frank's video on Accuwx, that looks a lot like something from a few of the GFS ensembles. What dream that would be lol...southern plains blizzard.

I have not, but I will say that I'm a little amazed that in the past 5-10 days all models, at one time or another, have been depicting something significant in the southern plains, & they still are.

^ Isn't it strange that after watching Frank's video you see a system crossing the southern plains up to the Lakes? lol

Lol, I refuse to ever speak of his video again. But really it's starting to look pretty good as far as I'm concerned. We've been tricked a lot this winter, though.

We have been. But the consistency can't be ignored, if all of this verifies, we'd have followed it since hour 250+ (on all 3 Ops). I refuse to believe the models will just take it away. +PNA shooting up into the arctic and a 7/8 MJO is undeniable.

Yeah, We've seen the euro and GFS predict REALLY cold air coming down before, but I don't believe it was ever under 168hrs. For it to only be 144hrs and it show that much arctic air is surprising.
