Y'all already probably have this map, but if you don't it is must have. It is a map of the US with weather stations that gives info on temp, wind, etc.

It is very easy to follow the cold on that map. It appears to me that the cold is advancing faster than originally expected. Would not be surprised if it arrives at least a few to several hours earlier than currently progged. Make sure you get your preparations completed TODAY in all areas of TX.

What is "it"? I wish I could believe in the Canadian but c'mon txagwxman, you and I both know it is the fourth best scoring model at 5 and 6 days out right now. The Ukie has given the Euro a run for its money and they're basically tied for first.

Heres what I can gather from the last 10 pgs for this upcoming week for Waco: Winter Weather I-20 and points north, with a CHANCE of sleet/freezing rain for me ~noon Tuesday. COLD! Thursday/Friday: Snow up to 2-3 inches points S and E around College Station. Cold!

I can deal with you folks up in DFW getting the winter weather, I'm quite use to it (see Ntxw's old avatar ). But when places s and e get snow and Waco doesnt, its kinda like mother nature slapping the snot outta you and then laughing at you.

Major winter storm to affect W and N TX tonight and Tuesday into the central plains

Winter precipitation possible across the entire TX coast (including S TX) Thursday and Friday.

If this is going to be an ice storm, better for the cold air to come in quicker. Even if it is a couple hours earlier and the frozen stuff starts falling before 5 am, that is a huge difference. It would give ISD,s time to cancel school and give the parents a choice of going to work or not. Ice is bad, but if it is going to happen, earlier the better! These models and local forecasts are slowly changing towards more frozen stuff as tonight gets closer. Extreme caution for everyone!

Canadian has more moisture over Houston Thu/Fri but air aloft appears too "warm" for snow. Euro and GFS are colder (snow) but with less moisture. It's a delicate balance. Looking like coastal sections of Texas may well see a dusting of snow Thu nite/Fri. However, if the GFS/EC are correct, the Portastorm Weather Center may be too far north (inland) for snow, unless the Canadian is correct.

We've always considered the idea of a satellite office on the coast ... perhaps now's the time to open that office in Corpus.

I may be way off... but it appears to me that the true arctic front is currently pushing through northern Colorado/South Nebraska. Maybe some of our more experienced amateurs or our pro mets can help us pinpoint it.

You should be able to make into OKC fine if you leave at 10am.

So I fully expect to wake up to sunny skies in the morning.....and dry cold weather.

Okay, If San Angelo is forecasting 3 inches ? Why is FW not on board with higher accumulation levels? I know for Grayson Co. I'm forecasting 2-5 inches of sleet, ice, and snow.

I would think that if the stronger part of the storm is to the north of San Angelo that DFW and points north would see more significant accumulations?

Why is FW not mentioning this???
