I can never remember a time when I had this much trouble getting onto the NWS site for my local forecast. This is crazy :double: I mean are things going to get that bad? Are we talking records here?

There will be a briefing/press conference within the hour, as a matter of fact.

I agree. I have been in single digit weather. Not fun. Have to warm the car up 20 minutes ahead of time, defrost the car, run the pipes...ugghhhhh

Grey Goose, eh? Does PWC need a spokesperson? I can handle the PR functions.

The forecast has Little Elm pegged up to 3-5 inches of sleet and up to 5-7 inches of snow now! Which is MUCH more than the current forecast graphic they have for the area. I'm interested to see if/how much this increases leading up until the event.

We are getting county forecasts right now. So that's for the whole county I think. Look at the red box on the site, if you can get there, it shows the whole county I think.

My friend's wife is at the Kroger in Denton off of Loop 288. She said it is packed with long checkout lines. I figured once the word got out on the Sunday evening forecast this would happen. Glad I went early yesterday, just your typical Sunday crowd.

Storm2K News covered this afternoon’s weather briefing at the Portastorm Weather Center in Austin regarding predicted wintry weather for many portions of the Lone Star State this week. The PWC director led off his briefing by saying that today’s event was being sponsored by the “great nation of Canada and its fine weather model.”

The briefing continued as the PWC director said his office is forecasting several inches of snow for the DFW Metroplex on Tuesday with patches of freezing rain and sleet mixed in. “Folks like HockeyTx82 and Brandon8181 will be able to play street hockey on the snow by tomorrow night. And in other places in the Metroplex, sleet pellets will be bouncing around the Dallas ground just like how Marion Barber carries a football,” the PWC director said. “Further south, blustery conditions will sweep down the state like Bob Stoops on a recruiting trip. And even from College Station down to Houston, the weather will be cold enough and more appropriate for hot tea-sipping.”

The director said that snow chances for areas south of a San Angelo to Waco to College Station remain high for late this week. “I’ve advised Wxman57 to consider getting chains for the tires on his bicycle. He will need them by Friday. And tell Tireman4 that he's going to get a snow day at his work on Friday. That's right. Word.”

The director ended up briefing with the PWC motto of “you want snow, you got snow!”

I didn't go to the store yesterday but I did watch Jeremiah Johnson . . . so I'm ready.

Update from San Angelo........Currently 78 degrees with puffy almost springlike clouds rolling in from the south. Reminds me of severe weather season.

Weather service forecasting 3 inches of sleet and 1-6 inches of snow for Grayson Co. That comes to 4-9 inches accumulation possible per NWS.
