Does anyone know if the DFW Metroplex is under a Winter Storm Warning? I can't seem to find information about it. :spam:

Dallas is in WSW now.

Seems like I'm the only one above I-20 not in any winter watches or anything.

HGX AFD...Hummmm

MEDIUM RANGE MODELS STILL IN GOOD AGREEMENT REGARDING DROPPING A
TROF NEAR THE 4-CORNERS WED...INTO NRN MEXICO THURS...THEN
EJECTING EWD INTO TX THURS NIGHT & FRI. STILL SOME MINOR
DIFFERENCES IN TIMING WITH THE GFS BEING AROUND 6 HOURS FASTER
THAN THE ECMWF/CANADIAN. WILL SEE INCREASING ISENTROPIC LIFT AND MOISTURE
OVER THE COLD LLVLS BEGINNING THURS. THERE IS INCREASING CONFIDENCE
THAT WE COULD SE SOME WINTERY PRECIP WITH THIS SYSTEM (MOST LIKELY
SNOW ATTM) AS HISTORICALLY IT IS A CLASSIC SETUP FOR THIS AREA.
WILL NUDGE CHANCES OF PRECIP UP TO 40% AREAWIDE THURS NT AND FRI
WITH THE EVENTUAL PLAN TO PIN DOWN TIMING/QPF AS IT BECOMES MORE
CLEAR AND INCREASE CHANCES (AS WARRANTED). FWIW THIS FAR OUT...MODEL
BASED ACCUMULATIONS SUGGEST ANYWHERE FROM A TRACE TO SEVERAL
INCHES.

Speaking of bold predictions ... I'm assuming you've changed your call for Dallas tomorrow?

I told you I would change my mind by Sunday, and I changed it by Saturday.

It looks like on the latest nam most of our heavy precip will be after temps are below freezing. Not all snow, though. Could be a lot of sleet beforehand.

The afternoon AFD out of NWSFO Austin/San Antonio says no freezing precip tomorrow (I didn't expect any anyhow) and only 1/4 to 1/2 inch snow for the southeastern counties (La Grange to Karnes City and points south) later this week.

Obviously those forecasters did not see the PWC briefing today! :cheesy:

What's the timeframe? Any chance pre-dawn hours so that the knuckleheads at the ISD's don't send kids to school in this mess?

It was only a matter of time.

Does anyone think there will be a watch or warning issued for kaufman county? I am only about 30 miles from dallas. I asked earlier but somehow my question was skipped.

I'm thinking before any Schools start in most of the area. I think just as a precaution they should cancel if they see early it's gonna be bad.

18z GFS just upped the ante 2-4 Dallas proper westward into Denton and Tarrant counties (3" line crossing the airport). Probably 4-8 West side of FW up to Decatur.

I'm in the same boat as you. Bell County is currently under nothing.
