You think it will take that long for the freezing line to reach us?

Seems like the cold front is pushing a little faster than earlier. Freezing line is quickly plowing through Oklahoma now.

heck no, it could be faster....but the NAM has it in at 7AM. NAM/GFS are underestimating the speed.

Another model (WRF) has DFW near 24F by 7AM.

When is the freezing like supposed to reach us around Dallas? And does it look like the precip will be here before the freezing temperatures?

Yeah, I'm just 2 counties or 1 county east of a WWA. I have a good chance I'll be in it. Trends have always been southeast for quite some time.

Don't the models always seem to underestimate the time of the front?

Well I mean you can't really go too fast with it since you won't have model support. However models are obviously slow with it, so maybe between 3 and 5 am?

Yes...especially Fort Worth...

NAM thinks the 20F isotherm is in DDC...it is 13F DDC. It also has the 32F isotherm NW of OKC, it is already 32F OKC.

DFW will wake up to ice/sleet at 5AM.

If the HRRR is correct, these totals would go up quite a bit in some spots. It is showing one heck of comma backlash especially western side before everything wraps up. Deformation bands would up totals locally significantly.

I was closely looking at that loop, lol. We're on the very fridge of the good stuff. Any poop or anything of that sort and we'd get pounded too. Which might happen the odds of that radar being exact are slim.

With the depicted 10m winds, it's going to be an all out blizzard at times where it's snowing. I don't know if that is long enough for the criteria, but it will be there.

All whiteout conditions where it's snowing. Map is covered with it. We'll see how accurate it is.

100% Correct.... This is why we are thinking our accumulation forecast is not showing true values. We will likely trend these up over the next few hours.

RUC doing a decent job on cold air.
