I'm curious to see what the GFS says. NAM has been crap with this system. 0z had 1004mb surface low pressure and the storm already is 1000. It's going to be stronger than the NAM is indicating. That's a huge difference...

FTW NWS mentioned possibility of a squall line in a discussion today, and that it could actually have a negative impact on the amount of frozen precip to fall after the frontal passage. I'm confused on both counts.. anyone care to explain? Is it a potential moisture hog / ruins lift?

Yeah that fog/mist had been falling in Denton since before 5. Everything is wet. Any chance that will help in cooling off the streets so more snow and ice might stick? We never got out of the mid 40's today. Serious question.
Did a 20 min jog, it's like the calm before the storm out there..............

Front is now through Graham and Gainsville, and approching Jacksboro at 9pm, should put leading edge of front into the DFW metroplex by midnight, and down to freezing by 1-2am.

Interesting post. Just wondering if it would hold together and move up the coast to the northeast. Good luck cperez1594.

I found this one from Texas Tech. Looks like some really good links.

I wouldn't worry about that too much, those storms will drive right up into the cold air and provide insane snowfall rates in short periods. This storm will be extremely intense to overcome something like that, expect surprises. Probably one that will go down in history books across the country.

It's not like the Oklahoma one but it's pretty good...
It's for california but use the window in the bottom right corner to pan over to Texas...... It also has three level of weather stations...

I have yet to find a direct link to Texas.....

Thanks, I'll check that out. The weather channel is having constant coverage of the storm. Pretty neat, and they keep saying this one could go down in the history books. Not for here but across the mid-west and such.

I know that's Denton, but we won't be far behind down the road. When is the last time DFW airport got below 10*? I don't remember this intense a cold spell since Dec. 89 but my college years are a little "fuzzy."
