In Sherman I currently have accumulated sleet on the ground in "dirt" areas.

32.8 here in Midlothian - dropped another half degree over last 4 or 5 minutes... In 15-20 minutes - freeze line will be here.

I'm here as well, but merely a casual observer of Texas weather events that may impact me, so I have nothing to contribute other than rooting for a day of working from home tomorrow in Dallas.

Don't even utter that word!

There's a few of us tracking the storm in the s2k chatroom. Everybody should come on in!

Chatroom doesn't work for me. I'm sure it's something I can fix, though.

Looks like the snow line is "catching up" to the sleet line..?

Sleet continues... temperature has dropped a degree and a half since it started coming down really hard.

Things dont look so wet outside anymore, and we have thunder and lightning as well.

Wind has also really picked up...

Getting heavy rain now with lots of wind. Insane amount of rain and wind. Videotaped some if it hoping to have a long video showing the storm progress.

My internet explorer shuts down when I click the Chatroom tab above. It's never done that before so I'm not sure what's going on. Please keep posting here as well. I'm not in Texas but just a hop over the Sabine so I've been following this thread closely to get a hint of things to come my way. You folks stay safe and warm.

New poster here -- sorry if I missed a reply to this earlier, but any further insight/thoughts on power lines? In an older part of town here, with lots of big trees with heavy limbs, and virtually none of our lines are buried.

I really don't think you'll have a lot of trouble, but you never with how strong this wind is. If some ice accumulates on the trees. Who knows.

Roads are now white in Paradise, visibility has been reduced and if you check the temperature at Bridgeport and Decatur, we are now in the mid to upper 20s

I mean through this site...

I don't know if this can be verified or not, but it seems like to me there is a third surge of cold air with this. The first surge came through on the weekend and the second earlier tonight to bring us down to freezing for a short while. I believe the third surge just came through because our winds have really picked up and our temperatures here in Wise County and to the west are now really tumbling again.

We still have sleet and looks like the hammer is heading straight for us on radar.

62 degrees right now in Longview. Had some rain/thunder which dropped temps to 59, but it's back up.
