This is giving forecasters a headache of where the bullseye will be. I think we wont get answers till we start seeing the moisture on radar

Well this is something I have never witnessed...but there is an Arctic front pushing through SE AZ towards Tuscon.

Electricity ... it's a beautiful thing ... when you have it.
I'm back! Hourlong power outage at the Portastorm Weather Center with a 15-minute break then power went out again. I feel like my power grid is doing double duty with this "statewide power emergency."
Many traffic lights out around town ... slowing things down. Considering we're not going to be above freezing until Saturday, looks like a "fun" couple of days. Now, where's my snow?

Ercot lost several power plants overnight - guess the annoying rolling outages will go on for a while

Re: Texas Winter 2010-2011
Might end up being more damaging than expected with another shot of arctic air sometime next week with possibly another storm.
This is pretty rare times people. We're more than likely in the middle of history. When we get excited about a potential cold snap 20 years from now we'll be saying "I wonder if this will match up to 2011"

Funster is right. Considering much of the state won't be above freezing until Saturday and, on top of that, we may be adding a layer of ice and snow in some places ... this seems like it is only going to get worse for a lot us, I'm afraid.
And I also think iorange55 is right ... with another Arctic blast next week, we may be talking about this period for many years like we mention the 1983 and 1989 outbreaks.

Not so sure you'd want snow initiated by the Ship Channel falling anywhere near you.

Believe during the 83 arctic outbreak there was lake affect generated by Clear Lake, or it could have been Galveston Bay.
Anyway, snowed somewhere near Clear Lake. I was jealous.

Yep, Clear Lake. Why do I know? We were in Santa Fe and saw the clouds. We did not get anything, but thought it was weird that there was one patch of clouds and clear everywhere else.
