Maybe it's all just taking awhile to come together. Hope is not lost. Does look like the college station area still might be the big winners.

What's the HRRR showing for our "neck of the woods?"

Hasn't updated fully yet. Still looks on track to maybe give us an inch or two. I don't expect that to change.

I will say it might not be quite as strong as previous runs. It looks a tad bit more widespread but lighter amounts. I think it's time to just start watching the radar now though.

I was looking at the radar and it looks like all of the precip has ended for the Beaumont area. Will it pick up again? Anyone? Thank you!!

Things are really starting to light up on the radar from Abilene and south to the border. Exciting times...hopefully!

JB just pulled out a 'secret' big dog video regarding next week. He too calls for the 'finale' storm and using 'the week of all weeks regarding winter', and using analogies of the historic storms. In terms of srainhoutx, interesting week ahead folks...

I know most everyone is focused on tonight's event but I think next week's storm could turn out to be a monster. And might even be more widespread than the one we just had but this time the core is right down the I-20 corridor, from Midland to Atlanta and up the eastern seaboard. Ironically, it might mirror the storm that came through earlier this week.

Did he really ??? I'll need to check that out. Looking over the Euro, Canadian, GFS, JMA, UKMET and now DGEX models, they're all showing the same general idea of some sort of monster trough for next week.

Wasn't this the time of the year that DFW had Snowmaggedon last year? All the chatter is starting to sound eerie.

All hope is not lost. LOL. If the radar returns continue expand as they are now, it could still get quite interesting for a large part of Texas. I am wondering if the ULL is going to still go further South than previously thought before turning and bring in enough moisture for SE TX to still have the forecasted event.

Let me remind everyone of what Jason posted earlier ...

jasons wrote:Hello all:

As we move into this weather event, many will come to this site for information. Be mindful that this a forum and not a chatroom. We've been very lenient in this forum but this event now requires some tighter control from the Mod staff.

As a reminder:

Post if you have some new information to share or a question about the weather.

Use the PM feature - Do Not Post - if you have some question about something board-related (i.e., how do I post an image? so-and-so shouldn't have said that, etc.)

Basically what I'm saying is this: the chatter and one-liners needs to cease for the time being. This is a fun forum but these are serious times, so let's keep the posts limited to thoughtful conversation, insight, and questions, and not a bunch of one-liners. We will resume out regularly-scheduled craziness this weekend.

If you have any concerns - please PM a Mod - thank you.
