The moisture built when it was supposed too. The surprise is it being this far north already. Definitely unexpected.

It's really tough when AUS/SAT/HGX doesn't let up weather balloons for soundings. We need to write a letter to the NWS for such. Hard to verify when the only thing you can go by is model estimates.

Ntxw do you mean we can actually ask for more in a forecast from our area and if so how do we do that?

So does this mean the storm has more potential later on because we didn't think it could make it this far north?

Some bright yellow returns popping up between Waco and Austin. Sleet or heavy snow?

Hope I am answering this correctly, I was just pointing out a suggestion to the NWS (we can email them via their site) to bring up the idea of letting up weather balloons. Sometimes the upper levels of the atmosphere can do what it wants and surprise model soundings which can vary forecasts (example tonight in Austin reporting freezing rain while 850 temps and surface temps are below freezing). Warm nose somewhere in there and would only find out if there was sounding data.

Some bright yellow returns popping up between Waco and Austin. Sleet or heavy snow?

That is mesoscale convection. Someone is going to get very surprised tonight. I am shocked it is that far north. I was expecting it over the CLL area.

I'm seeing reports that bridges in San Antonio are starting to ice over. What can you tell us South Texas Storms?

Have a friend that lives there say ice is on their windows and cars.

Is this piece of the storm south of DFW going to make it up here in the next hour or so because it looks like its heading our way, or is it too dry?

We have freezing drizzle here in Bellville! My cars are both heavily coated, it's almost grainy in nature?
