Not much at the moment but I expect it to pickup based off of what you all have been saying.

Snow falling in Denton now, just started. You all were right, I have never seen snow like this.
Not much at the moment but I expect it to pickup based off of what you all have been saying.

Is that band about to hit SA and Austin all snow or more freezing rain?
And when will the snow in CLL start? Getting sleet right now...

Just checked and we have about an inch and a half here so far.
How long has it been snowing?

Hardly an hour, 30-45 minutes at best.

JGrin87 wrote:Look at this map... The precipitation in Houston is traveling a completely different direction than the precipitation just 75 miles nw of there. I think this is because the ULL is causing the precipitation to the north, and the drizzle around houston is being caused by the same thing that caused it all day. So what my overall conclusion is, is that the ULL low has not yet made its affects felt in Houston, so it may not be a complete bust?
Thoughts?

Well, remember that the timing of this storm was always for things to bust loose around midnight or so.
Don't know if that's going to help up the snow potential down there, but we'll see.

Looks like areas just east of Dallas are getting hammered pretty good.

15-20 inches would have been possible if that had happened.

I'd say half mile to 3/4 visibility atm.
I was wondering about that, I bet we have close to an inch already here.

From where you describe your location you should go back and edit your 3" prediction for tonight instead of tuesday... from what the radar shows is on top of you and will continue..

If that happens, the "bust" that people were talking about earlier today will boomerang in the other direction.
Not sure anybody saw 4"+ coming anywhere in North Texas...
I've been forecasting a couple of inches for a few days now. I updated it to 1 - 4 inches earlier for tonight with some areas seeing higher than four inches.
Anyway, as I said I had this in my forecast for several days. I just didn't post them here in fear of getting the third degree because I don't think anyone here believes my forecast.

Re: Texas Winter 2010-2011
Snowing good here in the Richardson area. I just was out. The snow doesn't give good traction with the ice beneath. While walking around just a few minutes ago, I had trouble walking over the snow covered ice. I can't even imagine how a car would handle the same conditions.

Snowing in Allen now. It didn't take much to cover everything in sight. Only been snowing about 20 minutes.
