Moderate snow here in Plano. First post this year, but I am regular visitor and I do love this board. While most surfaces remain ice covered, I did find a clear patch about 150 yards long on a local high school track and got in a hard 4 mile walk. Back and forth. Saturday morning, 6AM, I head to the pond near my house with my skates, stick and puck. My son will accompany me. Video will be posted unless I fall through the ice..............

I just went 'skiing' down a hill lol. Talk about fun. Yeah I can't imagine a car trying to drive in this. Accident waiting to happen. Here is a picture, they don't do it justice bc the flakes are fine and come at a million tons per hour which don't show up well on low res *dumb phones*. I have about 2 inches so far.

A lot of freezing drizzle here in San Antonio. I've never seen it this slippery in my life. No traction at all on foot, much less car.

COMPARE TO THIS

Right on the edge of where the pacific jet ends, is where these snow showers are being able to form. Is the pacific jet blocking houston from snow right now?

About 5 minutes ago I looked out the window and saw nothing; now our cars and driveway are covered. It's starting to come down pretty good.

Anyway, as I said I had this in my forecast for several days. I just didn't post them here in fear of getting the third degree because I don't think anyone here believes my forecast.
I just don't take critisism very well. :(

Don't worry about criticism unless it's a moderator telling you to do or not do something.

If you want to see criticism, you should go back and review MississippiStateGuy's forecasts last winter, especially before the Christmas Eve 2009 storm.

He went waaaayyy out on a limb, took some serious criticism, and came out right in the end. He analyzed the data, interpreted it, stated his conclusions (with a disclaimer), and stuck to his guns. Same thing pretty much happened with him during Snowmageddon last February. He all but became a legend after last winter (along with Ntxw!) Several of us have mentioned this winter that we miss his input! :D

Some folks may go overboard at times with their "tone" when making comments, but for the most part, as long as you stay away from -removed-, you'll be ok.

Glad you're a part of Storm2K!!! :D :froze:

From Ft. Worth NWS. Snowy night and early morning ahead. Just my opinion, but based on current reports and trends, I'd say some suprising accumulations may be in order for portions of North Texas.

I just did a measurement, a few lines shy of 3" there's more on the roads and sidewalks than grass...
