The predicted values of the teleconnections (PNA, AO, NAO) along with the long-range modeling would indeed suggest that after next week, winter will mosey on out of Texas. But yeah ... for a La Nina ... what a Texas winter!

We have a very thick ice glaze here. No snow. My 4-yr old will think daddy's a liar. At least the glaze is something a little exciting to look at, so long as it doesn't get any thicker.

Wow. At least 6 inches on the ground. I havent gone out to measure yet, but the only time Ive seen more snow on the ground was last year around this time, and even then, there was not this much on the roads. Im really sorry some of yall further south missed out on the snow, I dont think anyone could have predicted this.

Finnally local mets catching onto this band as it moves into the metroplex. Met Larry Mowry on CBS 11 says addtional 2 inches for FTW with this heavy snow band. Jeff Jamieson says latest : "Were thinking 5-7" in Fort Worth and Dallas with higher totals further east north east.."

Yep, you're about to enter probably the last major snow band of the event, and I'll be there soon haha. Gonna be interesting to see what totals this thing pulls out on us.

SouthernMet, I continue to be impressed with your assessment of the weather conditions.

When I woke up about 7:00 this morning we had only 1/2 inch of new snow. (Last week's snow never melted at all here).

But we have had 1 inch additional accumulation in the past hour. And still snowing. 17° So, yes, I would say significant snow is heading towards the metroplex!

Metroplex watch out!! Esp FTW first then Dallas. moderate to heavy snow, 20:1 snow ratios I've been warning you about this since 4:30!! Won't last to long but briefly visibilities could dip below a half mile. Also with this intense band most signifigant snowfall for Ft Worth sence last night at midnight. 1-2" With brief light snow on backside..

With 4" on the ground right now we could have 6" after this band just NE of Ft Worth.. For Dallas and areas that have 6" already.. Wow all I got.
BTW dryslot SE of the metroplex towards Corsicana for now.

Corsicana 6.20" Officially.. I pegged that 2 days ago.. Lets see if they can't up it to 7" with some more light snow on tap for 10am..

Last FTW NWS update hints at sunshine and low 30's this afternoon to help melt some of this away.

It better hurry.. that ULL seems to be moving slowwwww.
