We still have quite a bit of snow on the roads, from what I can see in my neighborhood.
We're sitting at 33 in Denison.

You can't control it so if it comes you might as well enjoy it as best you can and make fun out of it. Me wanting snow will not make snow come and his no-snow dance will not stop snow from coming, no matter how many "worm" moves he brings out.

It just depends on what roads, main roads here are traveled on and look quite clear. The side roads however of course takes more time. Tomorrow I don't think will be too significant. Some rain, someone could see some snow mixed in. Shouldn't amount to anything. Maybe a dusting in the Red River areas. Euro says no, nada tomorrow and mid 40s.

No need to do the dance. We'll probably kill off the rest of spring break later this week, then the week after the muggy, 80s could return! Be careful what thou wishes for ;) mosquitoes rises from hibernation!

I was referring to the overwhelming desire of most posters to want a massive snow storm. Less than a week into it many are wanting out.

I think everyone loved the snow :P. It was the ice that kept everyone home for a week. Snow = drivable in North Texas.

Those are just the true Texans  can't handle it. I'm the opposite I can't handle 100 degree weather. I live in the wrong state.

What does the EURO say for north texas next week and what about the Canadian. The 12z GFS gives us .66 of precip all snow with high ratios with temps in the low 20s in the heaviest of the precip. Could be 8+ inches haha

Who is "us" in your post above? It would be great if you would include your location in your profile. "North Texas" is a big place!

NAM busted on the warm tongue, even on the 18z run. GFS had it nailed on the 18z run. RUC also had it on the 18z runs.

We just need a sounding over Houston...

Even Tim Heller at CH 13 talked about the need for soundings here. He said it was part of the reason for the bust. As you state though, and Larry Cosgrove pointed out to me and Kelly, GFS and RUC showed it without the soundings so it can't all be put to the lack of soundings. I do think that anyone that knows weather would agree that we do need those soundings to really make for better forecasting for SE TX and the Gulf Coast. Now the question is what is the next week going to bring us? We're already hearing winter precip possible from some of the local OCMs.

Larry got one part right (Warm air aloft)) but missed temp, precip and possible effect of the storm by a lot.. His surface temps were way off.. 4-7 degrees is huge when your talking about a winter storm..

Other just missed on the snow... and did a better job on the storm overall..

DFW is thawing out. Exciting to see life around here. For a region of 6m+ people the past few days have been quite desolate. Now if we can melt everything off around Arlington, things might not turn out so bad afterall! Now I understand why spring is such a big deal up north!!!

The snow is melting off the roof fast. It's like it's raining outside! I went out today and the store was packed. Lots of people need groceries I guess after 4 days of not getting out.

Anyone notice that red residue that is left over from the snow? I heard someone saying something about the red dirt from New Mexico/West Texas but really didn't know what they were talking about and since the snow has melted off my black truck it seems like it's red dirt all over it...weird.

I'm glad someone mentioned this ... I thought it was only here in Austin with our little snowfall. Vehicles here are filthy with all kinds of dirt/dust deposited by the snow/freezing drizzle. I wondered if it was a possibility that some dust/dirt from out west was picked up by the system and deposited on us. C'est possible?

I mentioned it along with Texas Snowman I think a few pages back. I noticed when shoveling it off my walkway that there was a reddish tint. Since my walkway is a brown-ish color I thought it was something reflective with the snow. But later when shoveling some off the trampoline I noticed it again, so that blew the 1st theory. I'll go along with the west Tx dirt which we sometimes see in thunderstorms that originate from out there with wicked winds to lift the dirt into the atmosphere.

Somewhat off-topic because of area that I am going to mention.

Many times here in Puerto Rico/Eastern Caribbean islands, many of the tropical waves that move off Africa carrie dust from the Saharan Dessert that is transported thousands of miles westward towards the Caribbean, and the cars are invaded by dust.Portastorm, maybe that is the case there with dust transported from the desserts west of you?

Me too. I had to stop for gas on my way to work and it felt warm out there in short sleeves. I guess it's a matter of perspective. After three days in the teens and twenties... 40 with sunshine feels like a heat wave.
