Since my walkway is a brown-ish color I thought it was something reflective with the snow. But later when shoveling some off the trampoline I noticed it again, so that blew the 1st theory. I'll go along with the west Tx dirt which we sometimes see in thunderstorms that originate from out there with wicked winds to lift the dirt into the atmosphere.

I have seen red dust in snow in colorado.. I've also seen it rain mud, it's pretty common in west texas...

I'll be sitting in my Man Cave by the fireplace watching the game on my 52" Samsung having me some hot wings (3 different flavors), chips and dip, and cold beer using the snow from the back yard where the sun dont shine to keep the bucket cold.

18z NAM at 72 hours looks like it's going to do something big! You have that tight baroclinic zone setting up again in the southern rockies and diving southeast.

How are we looking for source region temps this week? Could this really be a repeat of what we just had only shorter cold?

I think this event might bring us more in the way of precip. Cold will be shorter but it could be just as cold for a night or two. I think the actually precip will be the bigger story, though.

The snow is melting off the roof fast. It's like it's raining outside! I went out today and the store was packed. Lots of people need groceries I guess after 4 days of not getting out.

It is more than packed, the Walmarts are a zoo..Cabin fever, and the fact that the local news is already playing up precip for Tue/Wed, people are stocking up. I think I'll take 95 degree heat and humidity over this.

I had a feeling today might warm up a bit. Because the temp was starting to rise even yesterday with the sun just out for a few hours. Figured today would be mid 40s or so. Didn't think over 50!

I know temps could play a issue with tomorrow's precip, but with the moisture increasing does anyone think the event could turn out to be a heavy wet snow for Dallas north?
What's the HRRR showing?

It appears the biggest difference this time around is that the cold air should arrive before the bulk of the precip falls and might last much longer than last Tuesday's storm.

I believe the local mets/NWS overrated the "snow pack" on this one. Wouldn't shock me to get to upper 50's this afternoon and not below freezing tonight.

This is not an official forecast...

It'll be close since I think clouds are coming back in. I think places not in the heat island will dip below freezing.

so what is up with the "not official forecast" lines in posts? Was there some confusion in the past?

The mods ask you do it when you make a specific forecast. If you're not a pro. I think they just do it to be safe.
