Sorry I didn't update earlier. Durel is home in LaPlace now. As I know more and/or if I can get him to come here and post we'll update further, but obviously a huge step.

Here is a more detailed update from Durel's "care pages."

After 5 months of being in Jacksonville, FL. I am back home!!! I am doing therapy at home twice a week. I am getting around with a cane or walker. I take my cocktail of medicines twice a day. Everyone says i look great. When I go out in public I hafta wear a mask. for a good while I can't go to BK, MickeyD's, and Taco Bell:( Nevertheless I am so glad to be home and eat real good Cajun food.

I've been following the posts here and am happy to see you are doing so well with your treatment Durel!

This winter was a tough one for my family as well...my son, currently in his last year at University, was diagnosed with testicular cancer this past November 7th. He had the surgery shortly after and his cancer markers dropped dramatically (he was looking at chemo starting just before Christmas but the final blood test, done the day before chemo was to start, showed the markers (can't remember if they were alpha or beta) had dropped from 1,356 to 4). The other one dropped from the 70's to 1.

He now has his blood test done every 3 weeks and has been told by the *hot doc* if he misses on appointment he will fill him full of chemicals (needless to say we all have the next appointment on our cell phones so Mom and Dad can remind son...not that he is likely to forget though).

Will be keeping you in my thoughts!
p.s. I wish I could put a purple ribbon under my avatar.
