Yeah I noticed that. San Antonio and now counties just NW of Houston are under WWA now.

I wish that band would move through South Texas. That would be awesome to see! Just one time! Is that too much to ask for?

They just said on the local news here in Amarillo that it was at about 6 inches, but heavy squalls are still moving through. They just closed I-40 west to the new mexico state border for whiteout conditions.

Keep in mind that this really just ramped up about 2 hours ago, thats alot of snow in just two hours, at least for a guy used to dfw snowfalls.

Moisture concerns do I hear?

LOL! Wasn't it just last Thursday night when many on this board were throwing up the white flag about 6 p.m. and conceding that nothing was going to happen, the radar was dead, etc.

About three hours later, the radar had exploded if I remember right and heavy snow was falling in many places.

Not saying that will happen this time, but then again... :D

Hey gang, just played catch up on all of the pages. So are we still on for tonight or does it look like things might fall apart? I was getting mixed messages over the last few pages and just want to see what you all think as of now. Thanks.

Still looks good to me. NWS said they have moisture concerns, but I'm not concerned about it. Still think we'll 2-4 inches.

It has got crazy the past few hours or so. I really don't know what to think. Got a little worried when in the NWS forecast discussion they said this
"AM HAVING A BIT
OF CONCERN ABOUT THE MOISTURE WEDNESDAY MORNING...WITH THE
POSSIBILITY OF MUCH DRIER AIR WORKING INTO THE REGION AND SHUTTING
DOWN PRECIP QUICKLY."

But who knows. The stuff out west is becoming a monster just don't really know where it's headed and if more is going to keep building.

Yeah, we still on for tonight, precip is starting to show on radar just to the SW of Abilene and should continue to develope thru the night, still feel the 2-4" snowfall for DFW will be about right.

I know FW NWS is usually shrouded in ambiguity, but they are referring to further South. DFW is still Snow.

I dont see how moisture could be a problem with this, based on radar, even over the dfw area already it looks pretty good. Large area of light returns on radar definitely showing the moisture heading north over the area. It really looks to me like precip is going to explode behind the front.

People are just doing the usual cha cha of cherry picking the front and precip. Patience is a virtue! :P Even though that Amarillo band looks like it's moving W/E the whole complex is going NW to SE. Ukmet tbh . HRRR isn't doing a great job short term either. It's adjusting I must say!

CF has entered the northwestern part of the NWS-FW forecast region and is making better southeast progress now. Moving SE about 20 MPH. Located roughly Putnam-Caddo-Bryson-Bowie-Nocona-Madill (Oklahoma). Just 40 miles from here (Weatherford) now.

I'm not sure about exact numbers. But every run of the Ukmet has consistently looked the same. Band over Amarillo, explodes around Childress/Abilene and traverses along the Red River.

I can't wait to stand outside and feel the difference as it plows through here. I'm excited.

The way the wind is gusting behind the front, I bet you'll wake up well before dawn...
