Yeah amazing. I've only seen snow at 40 once here(last January).

It looks to be about 2 hours away here so I'll report back when it comes in. We're expected to start as rain but we'll see.

Someone once posted the math behind what temps it can snow at. I thought the highest surface temp it could snow at was mid to upper 40's but maybe I am remembering it wrong. Maybe someone can find the post.

We got about 1 1/2" snow here in southern mid-TN - it's starting to taper off, now. Roads were
slick driving home from work a bit ago, but I kept a good distance behind a salt truck for most of
the way! It's really dry snow - no scraping the windshield - it just brushes right off.

Hattiesburg looks to be under a decent downpour. Wonder if there is sleet mixed in? Might help cool the column quickly, let us know if you see anything!

Temp is 36 here (Seminary) but no snow that I can see. However, NWS Jackson said at their 7:05 update that Covington Co could see up to 1 inch of snow later tonight.
I don't see where that is going to come from, though. Looking at the radar, it appears all the moisture is rapidly moving east and will be gone by the time the cold gets here :(

When I was coming home from work today (from Magee, MS to Seminary, MS) the temp was 48 when I got in my car with very light rain. When I got about 10 miles down the road, I got into heavier rain. The temp quickly dropped to 46, so I'd venture to say it's possible that the downpour in H'burg might help bring the temp down.
It may be thunder and lightning there, as well. About an hour and a half ago we had lightning here with a heavy shower. I"m about 20 miles north of Hattiesburg.

I am just a novice. Looking at the sattelite, it looks like the clouds are on the increase around the big bend area of Texas. Could this be a low trying to form?

ALX 30 miles SW of me just dropped 45 to 40 in 20 mins with the start of rain... I expect some snow at least mixed in within the hour.

It's 39 F now and I just went outside to make sure the pups were in their house (and dry) and tried to find some snow or sleet in the precip and didn't notice any. It's a VERY cold rain though.
