37 at the Pine Belt Airport. The cold is coming, I'm just not sure it's fast enough though. Not really worried about the surface temps. We need the 32 degree line in the atmosphere to get here. It will take care of the surface temp after it starts snowing (if it ever does).

My fear is that it's not going to get here before the rain moves out :(

39 here in Oak Grove with rain. The snow line seems to be just north of the 84 corridor. I think the moisture will be out of here by midnight, not enough time for the temps to drop to get snow. Looks like Hattiesburg missed again.

Our temp has stalled at 40. Looks like the last bit of precip is about to move through the area. If the temp had continued to fall like it was earlier, then maybe this last bit would be frozen in some form. Oh well, I would rather have a few near misses that are fun to track than a winter of nothing at all, which happens more often than not around here! I definitely have been happy with the last 3 winters! I have seen something frozen in all of them if you count the few sleet pellets I saw last week. I hope the trend continues and we have even better years to look forward to.

It's been snowing in the mid 30's all over the place so we don't have to see 32 for the snow to start falling. With that said, I don't think we'll see much, if any at all.

Raining here, but no frozen anything. I'm tired of these roller coaster rides. Bring ON THE 90's!!

We might get some flurries or a snow shower after the main batch of precip goes through. The cold air advection likes to squeeze out remaining moisture in the atmosphere. I'm afraid that's going to be our only chance.

At 7 NWS Jackson says Covington Co could get up to one inch of snow. I don't see where it's gonna come from lol. By the time it gets cool enough everything will be falling in Bama.

It is raining harder now but still no luck, hoping it might cool it down enough to see a flake. I went out and held my hand out to see if some of the drops have that slushy look to them that you see right before it begins changing over/mixing in. Don't think I had any luck.

Doesn't this have something to do with the dynamics.

Here is a video from the Dec 2008 event to remind those of us that missed out that miracles do occur now and then! This is from my backyard not long after it began snowing. We ended up with about 2 inches at my house but certain areas got 4 inches or so further north in the city.

After getting three snows in 3 years, we can't be too greedy or can we? I am sure those folks in Arkansas that got 2 feet today could have certainly spared us an inch or two down here?

Do you record that? Makes me want to see snow. If you look at the high resolution rapid refresh model/ then precip type loop and I see snow for baton rouge tonite. Its posted below.

Looks to me that an upper air disturbance sliding south out of the Rockies is trying to stir up a low south of Texas.....am I just wishing too hard?

Well I don't know how it can snow for Baton Rouge unless more precip is coming from another Low or something. The last line just moved through as a very cold rain. I am not sure where more would come from. Wouldn't that be something if another Low popped and everyone woke up tomorrow to a few inches. That's the downside to better models and forecasting, it is harder and harder to wake up to a fun surprise, it is usually a bust. lol

Yes, I did record that. I have others as well and some from the Feb 2010 event.
