Re: 2011 S2k Atlantic hurricane season poll starts on April 1st
Wow,time has gone very fast since I made this announcement thread on early January, that we are now only days away from opening the poll. One prediction that I will make apart from the numbers is that this 2011 poll will be among the most members participating if not with the most participation since these polls began in 2007 (194 is the number to beat) Let's see if that will occur when the poll closes on May 31rst.

Hey peeps,we are almost there for the poll to open.Let's see if the participation exceeds 194 members as is the highest number the 2010 poll had.
For those new members that have been joining Storm2k in recent weeks and months, here is what you need to know about the poll.
1-You can post your numbers whenever you want between April 1rst at 12:00 Noon EDT and May 31rst at Midnight EDT when the poll closes. Also members can add a brief commentary if you want to do so about why you have the numbers you posted in the poll. Also,if you want to add the ACE number (Accumulated Cyclone Energy) you think the season will have, you can do so.
2-If you want to post first a set of numbers and then change them later you can do that. After you post the first set of numbers add the word (Preliminary),and then later on you can post the final numbers. Those final numbers then will be added with the date of the change. If by May 31 at Midnight EDT when the poll closes, there are still members that have preliminary numbers,I will consider them as final ones.
3-Anyone can participate, from the pro mets, experts, amateours, those who dont know a lot about tropical weather, and the newbies too are welcomed.I know that the numbers are not the most important thing in a season. The most important thing are where the storms will go,so it doesn't matter how many named storms form,as it only takes one system to do all the damage to an area. However,it's always very interesting to make a poll like this to see what the members think about the numbers game and how active or not the season will turn out.Let's see at the end of the season, how many members get close or tie what the 2011 season will offer.

The Storm2k 2011 North Atlantic Hurricane Season Poll is open from April 1rst to May 31rst at the sticky thread on the top of the Talking Tropics forum. Dont leave it to the last minute so to speak,as you may forget to post your numbers.
Let's see if this 2011 poll can surpass the 194 number that participated in last years poll.
