About 30 minutes ago there was a whole string of SVR Warnings along the line, but now only the southern tail of the line is warned upon. It seems that conditions for severe storms are only present just as the storms erupt and with daytime heating. Any storms from here on out ought to be below severe paramaters but we can't rule out some strong gusty winds and small hail nonetheless.

Mainly, I'm hoping for a good dump of rain. If I get an inch I'll be ecstatic but even half an inch would make me happy.

It seems they are breaking up into individual cells instead of the linear form earlier (I have very little severe weather experience so hoping to learn :P). The storms blowing up to the southwest has potential. Get under one of these boys would be nice for a car wash! And there seems to be a new line, perhaps associated with the cold front west of Abilene.

I'm not happy about them breaking apart at all. With the northeastward movement anyone within the parallel lines of the boundary ought to get some good rain, but I'd be much happier with a solid squall line moving at a steady clip to the east.

Line is beginning to move into northwestern portions of Grayson and Denton counties now.

edit: hey the left side of the county is the west side! who knew???

There's a new line west of Abilene, I think our rain chances should be pretty good. Might not be severe with loss of daytime heating but chances of rain at any one location might not be as bad. :D Lets hope, my yard is desperate for it!

You can see why the National Weather Service decided to issue a Tornado Warning.

I'd take cover in Aledo, and in western tarrant county. I had a gut feeling the splitting into cells was eventually going to do something lol.

This is why I don't have a blue met tag on my name.

The hooking seems to have dissipated for the time being but it could cycle back again. As long as that storm has an environment all to itself anything can happen.

The area around Texas Motor Speedway is in the eventual track of this storm....only one day late for the annual "oh crap!" ritual of trying to evacuate or shelter 200,000+ race fans in the path of an oncoming tornadic thunderstorm. Why they hold that race in North Texas during April I'll never know.

Very good point about the race in April comment thing! I don't get it either. There's another big cell that could rapidly develop moving into Erath county (Stephenville). This one should traverse a little more into the Metro if it holds together by then.

Had a cell blow through Little Elm in East Central Denton county about 20 minutes ago. We had some very strong wind for about 5 minutes and a lot of hail. After it blew over, I collected eight hail stones that were larger than golf balls. Had all 4 vehicles parked outside, but luckily only noticed one dent between them. Hopefully no more are discovered in the morning with more light.

The eastward component of the storms' motion is picking up now, and I'm expecting the outflow boundary to blow through Garland any minute now. It's too bad I have an 8AM class tomorrow, or I'd stay up and enjoy the show!

Spotters reporting winds in excess of 80mph with the Ellis County storm....but the way it's bowing out seems to be sucking energy out of the DFW portion. We'll see when it reaches me.
