I did see that performance. James was truly in his element and rocked it out! :D

The way I see it now, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Paul won. Wouldn't that be a kick in the a..?

After suffering what I suffered through in the 1990's as a metalhead, I would be just beside myself to see metal back on top. Would it not be a hoot if James won?

Yes it would be. :D For me, it would redemption for Adam Lambert not winning two years ago.

So, I was totally wrong about Paul - THANK GOD! There is hope.

I wish Jacob would have gone home.
I'm getting really tired of Steven Tyler.

It's about time karioke boy went home. Jacob needs to be next. Still not watching though, at least not yet. I saw an article that said all the sudden the judges are actually given constructive criticism? Too little too late.

They came to win! Holy Crap James! I love that 50's rock vibe to "Will You Love Me Tomorrow".

I watched since I couldn't find anything else I wanted to see. I must agree. He was incredible last night. He has shown he can deal with more than one genre and do it well. He may be the one to beat.

I agree. He can handle multiple genres and I love his tenor voice.

I was beginning to think of him as a screaming banshee. He really does have a very good voice, but imo he is only good for the gospel type of genre. On top of that I think he let AI go to his head and I think he had become quite arrogant. He even showed that in his final song.

He is not in the same league as the remaining contestants. Also unfortunate for Scotty, but I am not sure young Idol voters will carry a country influenced talent to the end... but I hope they do...

I believe Scotty will have an extraordinary career as a recording artist / country singer whether he wins Idol or not. So far, it appears that he has gotten the most votes each week, but like you said, that may not hold true until the end. In his case, it just may not matter much.

I'm glad that Jacob left last night. He is a great singer, but it's not my style and I find myself fast forwarding through much of his performances. I remember his very rude man in the mirror comment and then last night he said that America had fallen in love with him. I have my doubts, with that kind of attitude.

I like the remaining four and I will be sad each week no matter who goes. I guess that means that I'll be happy for the others, though. lol

Here's my take on the remaining contestants:

Scotty - Definitely going to be a commercial success. That boy needs a cowboy hat though.
Lauren - Nice voice and will probably do well in either pop or country. Still a little immature and just not strong enough to win this year. She showed that with her reaction to being in the bottom two last night. I would bet that she's the next to go.
Haley - Very strong but I'm not sure how she will do commercially. Hard for me to see where she would fit in today's music scene. Even with Casey trying to get his fans to vote for her I think she goes out after Lauren.
James - He's been the most consistent of the four. This week wasn't his best but still plenty good. The other thing that sets him apart is his stage presence IMO. Definitely the odds on favorite for me.

So here it is, Scotty and James in the final with James taking the win. Scotty has a chance though since country would love to have another Idol and that's a big voter block. Scotty also has both the "mom would love to hug him" and "young girls would love to jump him" appeal.

So glad Jacob left.........I was really, really tired of him.
I think Lauren will be next and the final three will be Scotty, James and Haley.

It was extremely obvious who the audience wanted to be safe Thursday night. When Lauren and Jacob were standing there several people yelled out "We love you Lauren!".

I think the girls will be the next two to go, but I am not sure of what order. I think Scotty will win.

I agree 100%, plus the comment that America fell in love with him. HUH? He probably has a good following and will have a fan club and loyal followers that will buy up every last album of his, but that's it IMHO.

I agree that Lauren and Scotty will be successful, especially in country. That style is safe for the two of them. James can do rock and pop and Haley definately pop and R&B. The whole thing is getting a good song writer and it needs to be marketable.

I love James and I think it's a James/Scotty final two.
