Shhhh. We don't want to wake up the winter weather folks. :wink:

That said, we do have a -NAO/+PNA setting up. A 'cooler pattern' may be ahead, but I suspect for areas E of TX with chances of seeing the greatest cool down. I hope at least. I'm finally seeing some signs of life in my Pygmy Date Palm that I thought was toast.

About time for some change! Seems right on track for the usual easter cool down. Need some rain desperately, this is north Texas' rainy season after all through May. Need a nice deep low to kick up some storms! But save that for the severe weather thread :wink:

It snowed in April 2007 just 60 miles north of Houston.... So I will never give up until that day passes..

It was bizarre considering it was near 90 a few days before and hit the upper 80's just a few days after...

We had frost this morning in San Angelo and its been in the 40's most of the day today. Feels more like January than late March.

Yikes! Frost? We are expecting upper 40's here in Houston in the morning, which is below normal, but nothing like frost. Once the sun came out this afternoon, we did get up to 65f after being in the mid-50's most of the day.

Finally got into the 50's after clearing here, but back down into the 30's tonight. Tomorrows high = 87. It will be in the 90's this weekend. The dry air is really causing some wild temperature swings right now. I need the heater in the morning and the A/C in the afternoon.

Our last freeze was about a week or so ago.

Got down into the 30s this morning, 37 at the North Texas Regional Airport.

Probably the last time we'll be in the 30s until this next fall/winter.

Freeze Watches/Warnings have been hoisted all across the western half of Texas. We'll see what happens....on May 2nd. :cold:

Man was it nice out today! Snow isn't unprecedented in the panhandle during May but definitely not normal, Dalhart reported it this morning. Went out for a jog earlier and it sure feels more like October than May.

HRRR gives all of north Texas a good slow soaking tomorrow which is good for the drought.

I got out in it earlier for a bit but final exams and projects have had me slaving over my desk most of the day. I am wearing jeans and a sweater lol.

Wouldn't that be amazing if an upper-level system (or just intense wet-bulbing) brought us some snow here? *goes to check the soundings*

That sure would be something! It's not going to happen unfortunately at least not here. At best by a miracle maybe a sleet pellet in our far NW counties, otherwise just small hail =p. Would be neat to see. This is our month of the year to soak in rain, take all we can get here in NTX.
