The latest on Wavy......

#1 Postby Guest » Sun Aug 24, 2003 1:03 pm

Southerngale and me are in the chatroom and we are looking at the latest visible sats of the wave formerly known as TD9 - seems like we see increased convection and what looks like a little twist in the clouds with our UNTRAINED eyes.

Anyone care to tell us differently - come in the chatroom and talk to us or post in here.

No surface circ. There was a SSW wind reported on the southern coast of Jamaica, but that's likely a seabreeze front (and a local effect).

The wave axis is west of the convection still but environmental conditions are a little more favorable for development.

LOL! I like the term "wavy".

When it becomes bigger, will it be a "wavite"?

It seems, at least anyway, that more and more of those interested in the tropics have discounted what was formerly Tropical Depression Nine.

On Saturday we were watching the wave axis move westward from around Hispaniola and most of the convection moving in a northerly direction.

It wasn't that surprising that there was evidence of the system on satellite yesterday afternoon.

The National Hurricane Center didn't mentioned it in their 10:30 PM EDT Tropical Weather Outlook.
