Re: C/SC TX Weather: Frying Pan Summer
I heard about that tornado in Pharr ... crazy huh?! It just goes to show how even a mild tropical storm can spur severe weather hundreds of miles to its north.
Great pix, Rgv20! I'm sure it created some excitement down there.

Re: C/SC TX Weather: Frying Pan Summer
This is just adding insult to injury now but June 2011 was the second hottest month on record at KATT (Camp Mabry) and the fourth hottest on record at KAUS (Austin Bergstrom International Airport).
Have I said I absolutely hate La Nina? I think I have.

We got about 10 raindrops up here in P'ville. I couldn't tell if it was rain or bird poop...
As I am dogsitting, I'm seeing the grass dying. They are watering but it doesn't seem to help. Dunno what kind of grass - looks more like Bermuda than St Augustine but I'm no expert.
I thought La Nina was over? Not like we can tell - this time of year is usually hot!

ohhh^
Was watching CNN when they started talking about firework bans and she draws a circle somewhere near Abilene says something about the drought in West Texas, says it's been 35 years since the last time Austin didn't have a fireworks show and puts a dot somewhere near Abilene ...
sigh. I knew it was dry, but when did we move to West Texas?

June was officially the hottest month ever in San Angelo. I hope Al Gore doesn't find out.

With no A/C at my house (and shortly at my workplace) going there for summer holidays and hugging a iceberg sounds wonderbar.

I was driving over to Target on Sunday evening, around 9:30. It was still 93 degrees! That's just ridiculous man. Heck, I'd take NORMAL summer temperatures at this point.
