Re: 2011 SE TX/SW LA Weather:Where's da rain?????
I received .00000000001" of rain but I think that was because of 2 lucky rain drops that made it into the gauge.
Of course my gauge is not that sensitive though this is just an estimate. All I can do to stay sane now is joke about this.

Well we have our best chances of rain I've seen all year for the next week. 40%-50% every day through next Monday with heavy rain possible mentioned. Hopefully we can put a big dent in the drought. July is our wettest month so it's time to catch up! SE Texans it looks like some of this will spread your way too.

All that moisture in the Gulf but I just don't see anything bringing it to far inland. Maybe the sea breeze will be a little more active today.

Sea breeze is definitely more active today. It has already passed most of the metro area heading NNW. Not a drop here, but definitely was raining close by. Nothing big, but some is better than none. Here's hoping the mess moving along the coast makes it all the way here and moves inland over our area!!

Some sprinkles up here David and a couple of rumbles of thunder. The yard could use a drink about now.

Woohooo!! Finally getting a nice shower at the house. We have missed out on all the showers in the area in the last 2 weeks. Wife called and listened to it over the phone! Music to my ears. Looks like more is developing near the house as well!

Glad someone got some sprinkles from it. The cloudiness is welcome even if it doesn't rain. It looks like it will keep the temps below 100 today. Even mid 90s is starting to sound cool these days.

I sure like what I see this morning:

Moisture has been increasing all week. Normally it decreases everyday. Hope this scenario comes through.

Yeah it is starting to look pretty good for yall to get some beneficial rains in the next week or so. It would be awesome if some of that could spread westward and affect the rest of central and west Texas.

If the ridge moves far enough W or NW you guys might get some of the moisture also. I hope you do. Right now I am encouraged about our rain chances this weekend from what I am seeing. I just hope that the possible convergence I think I am seeing the possibility of doesn't lead to too much all at once. Not about to say I don't want rain, but I would really prefer it without flooding. Can I have my cake and eat it too?

Re: 2011 SE TX/SW LA Weather:This is getting ridiculous!

We haven't been able to get any rain lately so I will take whatever I can get. Rather it be a deluge, happening on the weekend, I don't care. I would just love to get some rain!!

Yeah I wouldn't be worrying about flooding, y'all have millions of trees dying from drought in Houston right now! So far we've seen nada from the past few days of "higher" rain chances. Today is more of the same, east/west/south, anywhere but over Lafayette. Latest GFS says we should be receiving 2"-3" of rain the next 48 hours, we'll see...

Yeah, I am really hoping all of you in Texas and Louisiana will get a reprieve from Mother Nature to bring some urgent need of rain there soon.
Hang in there guys!!

Radar says it is raining at my house. It must be picking up on the sprinkler I just put out.
