Now that the models have a real center to work with, what will be the affect on the next model runs?

It might have west winds but it is one ugly system with a very hilly road ahead!

It has a good 48 hrs before it would encounter Hispaniola and or eastern Cuba.

I am just an amateur and a "noob" at that so any speculations that I have made are just that, uneducated speculations. Please refer to the NHC for accurate information.
Thank you all for your thoughts, I've loved reading through this community since '06 and finally decided to post more actively.

Will this go straight to TS also? Is the NHC really dropping the ball. Are the percentages messing around and causing NHC to be too political when it comes to naming systems (not wanting to contradict themselves if they just posted a low % and then name a storm a few hours later, for example).

Based on winds, I believe it should go straight to Emily. I don't know what politics has to do with a closed circulation and winds around the clock.

Yep...Tropical Storm Emily with 45 to 50 mph winds well removed. Going just between the islands. Lets see if they send out a VDM.

18z NAM moving 91L over the extreme Eastern tip of Cuba, barely touched any of Haiti.
