Remember this system has significantly improved from 24 hours ago. Seems Emily has slowed down and this should allow her to slowly organize.

According to JB the 8 am position is 40 miles ene of the 5 am meaning that recon found the center where the cdo is. It should start to intensify now.

Luis,

Why do you think all of the newspapers playing this up as an event for PR?

Some news from Dominica...
http://stormcarib.com/reports/current/dominica.shtml

- Very bizarre weather!
•By Lisette Stevens <jaco.lass at gmail.com>
•Date: Tue, 2 Aug 2011 03:47:02 -0700

We had a very, very peaceful night. We heard no thunder and saw no lightning! We had been prepared for the worst; we did not even hear any real rain on our roof and we have to report we overslept this morning. We are so relieved hopefully there should be no landslides and not very much damage. Just maybe the Heavens were looking down on Dominica as we have had our trials and tribulations this week!! We have read that our sister island Martinique had the brunt of the storm so we hope that there is not too much damage. This has been a wake up call and that all of us are very ready if this is going to be an active season! We hope this system does not form into a hurricane and affect another island or indeed the mainland.

A muslide have been reported in Martinica at Morne-Cadet. Moreover given the local radio some rivers are already moving out of their blankets.

The one on the top shows the projected path of Earl and the bottom one is Emily. If you look closely, Emily seems to pose more of a threat to the Eastern Seaboard than Earl due to its closeness. Just thought I would show you.

Bastardi also tweeted that Emily could be a hurricane when she reaches Hispaniola.

This system is like a yoyo. Firstly she took what seemed like months to get her act together then finally got herself together to be given her name. Now we have questions over where she is heading, her forward speed, where the centre has relocated to etc..

This is one interesting system and has had my attention held thats for sure. It does appear that she has Started to sort out her issues and could be wrapping up.

I just hope everyone that has been effected so far and in the next few days is ok and not suffering too much damage.

Islanders let's continue to monitor closely the situation. Be safe and dry those who are in Windwards/ Leewards. Emily does not want to move out and give up. Cycloneye keep us informed on the weather in PR :).

Sorry for my ignorance but what does 3.0/3.0 mean.

Rain is coming in from I can only guess may be feeder bands from Emily.

I am starting to get the feeling that Emily has some other agenda as it pertains to strength.
