Greetings from Melbourne, Florida! :D

I am here at my brother's and sister-in-law's until Thursday. This is my second time here since they moved in December. I am going to keep my sister-in-law company while my brother is near Binghamton, New York for work for a couple of days this week.

Chris (my brother) surprised me [and my parents] when he called around 12:30 PM Eastern Time if I would kindly do him and his wife this favor.

I was briefly online this afternoon, but never got a chance to check in. When I finally signed on about 3 1/2 hours before this post... there sure was a lot of catching up to do since I was last on about three quarters of a day. There were just over 120 threads with at least one new post since my last time here, including the "Fun & Games Forum" -- and still have some more to at least scan. :D

Have a great Monday everyone and see you around. :)

Morning everyone from the steamy front porch in SW Missouri! :D :o

Looks like this is it... my first day back to college this morning. I have to leave shortly, but I will fill you all in on how my day went. The only thing I am really not looking forward to is the 45 minutes to an hour commute, but it is cheaper to stay at home than to rent something there.

Dennis... sorry to hear about your aunt! :(

Tom, enjoy the time in Melbourne. :)

Enjoy today everyone, even if it is Monday!

Sunny daybreak here in Phoenix...but Ignacio could put an end to that tomorrow or Wednesday. See if he wants to end his life here in the valley of the sun!

Enjoy Melbourne, Tom...and good luck at school Garrett! Summer always seems shorter on this end of the calendar.

This week should be interesting. Busiest week at the plant since February. Son Jarrod may get the call on a new job (BTW, met his new "friend" Shannon...she is very nice and pretty too. Graduated from Michigan State!). Kathy and I spend next weekend with Emma with her parents head to Vegas for a friend's wedding. Lots going on!

Enjoy the week. May you be blessed with good news, plenty of smiles, and peaceful rest when you need it most.

Good Morning!

Yes indeed, Iggy could make for a VERY interesting week! We could use ALL the rain we can get our hands on but NOT the way I'm afraid it's gonna happen, as you said Steve, we'll just wait and see.

Garrett, back to the books?? Good Luck my friend, don't let your schedule overwhelm you.

Tom, sounds like your having a GREAT time, enjoy!

Steve, don't work too hard ya hear?

I *may not* be online too much this week, my sister in law, Michelles "EVIL TWIN" is coming for a weeks visit tomorrow, she lives in San Diego. She wants to go and see the VLA'S in New Mexico.....SOoooo, depending on what Iggy does, plans are for making the short trip on Thursday, look for more photos in my webshots albums by the weekend!

That's 'nuff outta me.......OH, got another sawbones appt on Weds for these dang P-moan-ya......I "STILL" can't shake this dang stuff, I've got to the point that I'm just ignoring it and carrying on with life as normal (well, as much as I can!)

Good (early  ) morning everyone!

I have just a few minutes this morning so I thought I would check in and let you know the first day back yesterday went well. :)

I have a class at 8:00 this morning and with a :45 to hour commute I have to leave here at 6:45 in order to be on time. Isn't that fun? :o

Dennis... keep on keepin' on. :D

Skyman, I bet you are counting down the minutes to see Emma again! :)

Everyone have a great Tuesday!

Hey everyone! Feels so good to be cozy on the front porch this evening! It's been such a long time! I have a lot of catching up to do! And that includes regaining some post counts *sigh*

It is so HOT here! We broke a 50 year record here with a high of 97° today! Supposedly we will be saved by a cold front at the end of this week. I sure hope so becuase I'm melllllllllting! hehe

I don't have any big plans for Labor Day this weekend. Our excuse of a town fair is this weekend, which I am sure won't amount to much, but at least I can go play bingo  Then after that, the birthday spree starts in my house! All of our birthdays are at the end of the year! My moms and bro's are in September, my brother's fiancee and my step-dads are in October, mine is in November, and a family friend that is staying with us now, his is in December! Needless to say, this is our favorite time of the year! :D

Well, off to posting frenzy! Hope y'all have a good night!

Nice to see you back on the posting frenzy Jacki-Lynne. Ironically I am just sending a card to a family friend on Kimberly Downs Road in Davenport..he graduated from college recently! Is he your neighbor? Maybe I could send it to you and you could hand deliver it!

Once again a horseshoe area of storms around us this evening, but none so far closer than 20 miles. May not get here before they fall apart and call it a day.

Kathy's birthday (Dave in Houston, too!)..they are the same age within hours..but not sure who is really older! Celebrated with Chinese food tonight.

Talk to you soon. Ignacio is still going to send us some moisture...only from his outstretched hands, not from his eyes.

Garrett....I know exactly what you mean. Menasha is about 45 minutes from UWGB...and I'm at home for this semester....thankfully, my earliest class is 9am. Lucky you...starting school today....I get another week yet. Sept 2nd we start.

Jacki...nice to see you back!!!!!

My uncle and cousin are coming up from Silvis, IL for the weekend to visit the family. My aunt and my other cousin from that side don't want to come up, but that's ok. Its been a while since we saw them. Due to a wedding on Saturday, I'm driving up to the campground on Sunday and Monday for a visit.

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone

Jacki..its great to see you back :).
Schools in full swing...kids are studying their Spelling words out loud...noisy noisy!

We're accompanying a large group of friends to see Wayne Newton tomorrow evening....anyone remember Danke'san or whatever that song is? Hoping it'll be a fun show! Saw Brooks and Dunn last week, went with one of the highrollers from the casino, and sat front row...I don't follow country music, and didn't have a clue that I actually knew some of their songs...was pleasantly surprised!

Its hot as hades here still, whenever will we have a reprieve from this heat?! Our power bills are so extreme this year!

Well, take care everyone and good luck with all your back to schools!

Wow, it has been a while since I took the time to come and relax on the porch! I have missed you guys!

Well my freshman at FSU has started classes and his settled in his dorm room and seems to like his roommate. I am so very proud of him, he seems to be handling everything very well. (better than me anyway  )

My youngest is back in school too, 7th grade! Between football practice and broken bones, we are doing well on our own. He has taken the role of the older brother and is being a big help to me and that too is greatly appreciated. God sure did bless me with such wonderful children!! I am forever grateful for that!

My surgery is tomorrow at 1pm......I am a little apprehensive about the results but will handle whatever God gives me. He knows what He is doing even if I don't.

The plans for Labor Day weekend is rest and recovery. The pain factor is real high in this particualr surgery so I plan on sleeping through it if at all possible.

I sure hope this post finds you all doing well and know that even when I am not actively posting, you are ALL in my thoughts and prayers. I don't know what I would do without this board now! Your support through all this has been an incredible blessing! Thanks!

Good Morning All,

It's a beautiful day here in the Burgh. Low humidity at last.

Sandi, I had a problem with the "empty nest" syndrome many years ago. That first one in college is a real shock. ((HUGS)) With that and surgery all in the same week, geez, that's aweful. I'll say some extra prayers for ya.

Dennis, I agree, I'm seeing so many signs around here of an early fall. I've even seen the birds flocking already. How are you feeling?? I hope you're still taking it a little easy.

Furry, I love the show Wayne Newton puts on - I saw him in Vegas many years ago. He went to Afganastan to entertain the troops several years ago and my nephew flew the helicopter to take him from the carrier to land. I guess his makeup kinda melted in the desert heat!!!! Drew Carey was also aboard. My nephew wasn't impressed with Wayne at all but loved Drew.

Shannon, I just went camping last weekend. Hope you have as much fun as I had.

Steve, tell Kathy I said Happy Birthday.

Well, I brought a cyber KK, Chocolate birthday cake for David. Hope you had a great one my friend.

Well, that's all for now. I better get back to work.
I'll put on a fresh pot of coffee and brew some Earl Grey in case Miss Mary or Raine stop by.

Have a great day

Well, It is time for a short visit in between tropical systems!!

Looks like we may have one here in SE TX the day after Labor Day. Could be a big rainmaker for someone in the TX/LA area. Check out the tropical thread for details.

JACKI so glad you have returned to the fold. Whoosh! What was that? Oh it was just Jacki posting!!!

As far as the empty nest syndrome goes-well watch out!! They do come back!!!LOL!!!! Not that we mind because she does have her own place and a job. Now if the almost 21 yr old could get out of school and get a job and his own place........

SANDI!!! THE PRAYERS ARE ALREADY FLOWING FOR THE SURGEONS HANDS TO BE THE SAME AS GODS!!! He has given you much to bear, and you will survive, and flourish for it!! You are indeed a very special person with the burdens he has given you. With you STRONG FAITH all will be well.

Dennis, finally the kind of rain you need! Hope you get more of it! How is that pnuemonia? Are you rid of it yet? Or are you heading to the VLA's still sick??? :?:  :? Now tell me true!!!!

To all the rest of you I wish I could stay longer, but I must exit for the tropics and my family.

Later ALL!!!

Good Morning!

If the mornings stay like this......it'll be time to fire up the "Pot Belly Stove!" MAN......it sure FEELS GOOD though, 44° WONDERFUL degrees this a.m., won't be long till our first killing frost! I'm betting the first frost for us will be 10 Sept........yup, next week sometime, too many signs!!

Sandi.....rest assured kiddo, we will pray like never before for the best results and a painfree recovery, God Bless and HUGE OL SNOWMAN {{{{HUG}}}}

Yesterday was the MOST AWESOME day at the VLA'S we've ever had! Their following Mars very close for another week......the place was crawling with scientists, astronomers from ALL OVER THE WORLD! The weather was pretty awesome too, lotsa CG contact.......if you haven't seen my photos, by all means, PLEASE DO.......there in my thread "NRAO Socorro New Mexico!"

Off to the driving range as soon as the sun comes up "LOL!" it's still a little too dark......HEY, I need those glow in the dark balls "LOL!"

Happy Friday to all you wonderful weather freaks here on the porch! :D
Looking forward to some t-storms today and lower dewpoints once the front passes. It's barely moving though - I could crawl faster.

It also looks like it'll mess up our plans tomorrow to go to Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN. Yeah, that's the real name of the town. It's way cute too, all the businesses and signs are in red and green and have cute names like "Santa's Elves Body Shop". Holiday World is a nice theme park with rides, rollers coasters, and a huge water park. Wouldn't you know it, we haven't had rain in about 3 weeks. Welcome to Labor Day weekend! :(

Sandi - I'm praying for you girlfriend! God has His Healing Hand upon you right now!

Take care everyone! Have a great Labor Day Weekend!! (((BIG HUG))))

Good afternoon, porch sitters!

Well, the cold front finally came through my area and the temperatures are now very comfortably in the 70's! YAY! I can't wait until fall, and this weather makes me feel one step closer! However, the rain that was supposed to be- wasn't. So it is still verrrrrrry dry here!

Ugh! Anyone else dealing with the wrath of a high pollen count??? I have been sneezin' and wheezin' all morning! I'm going to have to replenish my stash of Kleenex's here soon!

Sandi, I don't really know you, but you are part of my S2K family so I wish you a safe surgery and a speedy recovery!

Ok, well, gotta take myself off the porch and get a few things done, y'all have a good one ok? :D

Good Morning!

Tis a "FINE" morning here in the White Mountains, fall is in the air.....just the *smell* alone tells me the nippy air, fallen leafs are JUST around the corner.

Can you believe tomorrow is September 1st!!! My goodness! We start the *birthday* months from here on out......both of my sisters bdays are in Sept, my daughters is the 10th, then Oct rolls around with mine and Chris', Nov. a few aunts and uncles, then Dec...my fathers and other aunts. Yes indeed, the last 3 months are VERY busy!

Donna.....this is the 1st Labor Day weekend in recent history that it HASN'T rained here, every year that I can remember, it's POURED!!! The Good Lord has been smilin' on us for sure........the past 2 years have NOT been good for the mountain, economy wise that is........it's NICE seeing hundreds of thousands of tourists on the mountain, we NEEDED it! I'm sorry to hear about your weekend plans being soggy! SANTA CLAUS IN.???? That's MY kinda town! BTW.......I've been asked to do the Santa routine for another function, that makes 4 this year "Ho, Ho, Ho!" "BAH, HUMBUG!" "LOL!"

Jacki, we've been lucky this late summer, early autumn with allergies, last spring was a different story!

Not much on the schedule for today......breakfast out, then church.....that's about it! Make it a GREAT and SAFE Sunday would ya's??

Glad everyone had a wonderful and safe Labor Day weekend. :D I know it is sounding like a broken record, but we had another weekend at my best friends parents campground up in Iola, Wi. Camping (that's what I'm getting at) We have a seasonal up there. It was a little nippy on Saturday night with radiational cooling, but we (Kevin and I) managed to get through with a quilt on top of my sleeping bag. (Due to only room for 3 people in the trailer, we were outside in a tent...it actually was rather comfy). Nothing went on....we respect each others space.

My uncle and cousin came up from Silvis, IL this weekend....My aunt and my other cousin stayed home. its been about 3 1/2 years since we saw them last. I think it was my HS graduation was the last time they came up. Almost everyone was together at my grandparents camper in Saxeville, WI (about 1/2 hour from Iola). Surprisingly, my family didn't embarrass Kevin to much (this was his first time meeting them my aunts, uncles and cousins)... The first thing my mom asked Kevin was if her brothers and sisters-in-law embarrassed him...thankfully, they did not. Family get-togethers are way beyond the ordinary. Lots of Laughs!!!!! :ggreen: My family then surprised us on Sunday when they all drove up from Saxeville to visit us at our camper in Iola. :D :ggreen:

URGH....This six letter word. S-C-H-O-O-L. Yikes...that starts up tomorrow 2 Sept. My little brother gets to rub it in b/c he doesn't start til Wednesday. :o :o

Jacki, actually my allergies weren't that bad this summer....Usually the Spring and Fall they are horrible. As long as I have my OTC meds, I'll be fine. For some odd reason, the prescription meds dont' work.

VB....stay dry.....I notice you might be under the gun with yet another Tropical Storm. :o

Sandi....get well soon. :D

Happy Labor Day everyone!

And a chilly one it is here! I finally got my cool weather, and ya better believe I am loving highs in the lower 70's!! It is overcast here, but I don't mind.

Shannon- Glad to hear you had a good weekend! Silvis is about half an hour from where I live, I've been there a time or two. Maybe next time you should come down to visit them- and come party it up with me! LMAO

My allergies have given me a break today, I feel a whole lot better! Funny, I feel better on the day I intended to take it easy! That is how things work for me though! I really wish the library was open, I would love to curl up on the couch with a book!

Well, I think I better get back in before I get a chill! Y'all have a great holiday and take it easy ok?
