O and underthwx, just to note, most of the people in this forum currently are military in some sort of a way or another, (specifically the people in Okinawa).
Yep, we're about midway between Kadena and Naha. The wind is blowing towards the ocean...but our stairwells and everything are flooding. I can't believe how much water just came in the front door. 5 towels later and it's still wet. I give up until morning.
You going to be okay?

Yeah, we'll be fine. I just hope we don't run out of towels...and the crazy thing is that we are 20 ft up off the ground and flooding. LOL

Re: WPAC: MUIFA (Kabayan) - Typhoon
Howling like hell in Naha too, sustained winds per JMA obs jumped from 35kts (hourly average) to around 50kts! I would go out and film but totally cannot be bothered - got some shots I'm happy with at 4am this morning, yup 4am, so as you can imagine I'm pretty beat.
This has to be the most drawn out typhoon I've been through. I've gone through some slow trackers in Taiwan and Philippines such as Morakot, Sinlaku and Parma but they just dumped rain after landfall, not incessant wind!

Oh my goodness, y'all are taking a beat-down over there. It's only halfway finished and it looks like the backside will be stronger! Stay safe, dry, and patient!

We should do a sweep stake on when the next typhoon will hit Okinawa this season - we all know it's gonna happen
Right really is bed time - have a good weekend all!
I'll leave you with incredible hourly average wind speed obs from Itokazu (elevated) which I drove past this morning in SE Okinawa:

Based on all that data, the central pressure is likely around 952mb and the winds (1-min) around 80 kt. Good luck everyone there!
