It's been the "Silence of the Hams" today...not a single response, call, "Dear-Sir-You-Cur" note has come our way today.

WE did get more food from one of the church pantries, and I got my two-month's supply of Rx this afternoon....and yes, we managed to squeeze coppertop's physical in, just in time for the first Cross Country practice of his second year on the team :o .

Well, at least there were a few positives today! Things have seemed to turn around for the better. Keep looking - at least you have a little breathing room now. Also, I would mention to any prospective landlord that you do have that Terminix contract. It should help to ease their mind somewhat.

LOL, Bill, I lived in a little rental house in
nearby Hohenwald, several years ago, and,
I have seen the "Dance of the Dying
Roaches", before...all one can do is sit and yell,
"YES! YES! YES!" :ggreen: It ain't as pretty
as "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies", by the way...
Here's hoping for a brighter outlook, tomorrow!

:o UGGHHHH!! :17:

I have to admit that's pretty funny - the situation the two of you were/are in certainly is not. I can understand your glee!

Well, breeze and Stephanie,

It's not quite like conditions in "Joe's Apartment"...line-dancing cockroaches with a country band and a "Kitty-Cat Ro-dee-o" going on, but I did enjoy the "floor show"...

Not a word from the "applied-for" apartment, the other three are under the same phone #...and its message service has been "full to capacity" (quote) for two days.

No one answering calls, either. So, we wait. :(

This just in from "THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SIKESTON"...

First, they thanked me for my "initial" application; then, I was told that they are waiting for a criminal background check (LOLOL), and "if" I pass that, they will place me on a waiting list that may take up to nine months. Only at the time I get to the top of the list (?) will I undertake the "next step in the process" (their words, not mine).

Your tax dollars at work....and HUD is being pressured to cut Section 8 and/or public housing in Sikeston by 25%, BY the City of Sikeston and Scott County, MO, folks...

Joshua,

I'm doing what every man and/or woman should be doing right now...I'm praying to Him and waiting on Him, and I exhort all of my Storm2K friends to join me "without ceasing". :larrow:

It was once said, "If one has faith as small as a mustard seed, and he says unto the mountain, 'MOVE!', it will move"...maybe mine ain't that big, but I continue...and ask you all to "do likewise".

I assume that you've spoke with Legal Aid on Monday and you do have some breathing room to find a place from the original deadline.

It's ashame about the funding cuts to HUD. I won't go any further with that one.

Keep looking - one will come up soon for you!

Solider I will pray for you as well. I don't know the entire situation but I do know that NOTHING is impossible for God. You are correct with your statement about the mustard seed. Gods Word does say that in Matt 17:20...also read Mark 11:23 and 24..... if Gods Word says it then it MUST be true :)

Gods got your Back!

Legal Aid came in "too little and too late"...we are retaining a private attorney, one that was recommended by coppertop's youth group pastor, because (a) he responded first, and (b) it would be bad form to switch legal eagles while litigation may be forthcoming.

We ARE hoping, in a strange way, that Collins tries to evict us on Friday or Saturday...I'd love to see them picked up by the police! :larrow:

Hang in there, Bill! I somehow suspect that
you may end up on top of this, yet!

"Ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and the door will be opened unto thee."

"There was an old woman who demanded justice of an uncaring judge; she wailed, and pleaded, and eventually he dispensed justice because of her entreaties.

"If this unrighteous judge would do justice unto that woman, who he didn't care for, how much more will Our Father, Who loves us, listen and act upon our pleas?"

Jackie, your prayers are all I'd ask for...He hears, and in His good time He will respond...

Bill...for all the words you have spoken recently, and for all the frustration and rollercoaster emotions, it was good to see this statement come from your keyboard.

Indeed I believe, as do many others here, that He will provide a new opportunity. Perhaps not that which you are looking for...but a new chance nonetheless.

Great to see your understanding and appreciation of this truth.

Steve, you hit the nail on the head......sometimes God DOES answer our prayers and yes....most of the time, we do not like His answer but.......He DOES know best for us and we must follow His lead.

Bill......still got ya covered in prayer my Brother!

You are right Dennis. God hears all prayer even though the answer might be no.

UPDATE! The apartment we want...we are one of two "qualifying" applicants; we are ready to move NOW, but the other couple applied before us...and they are having trouble getting out of their lease. The owner says that he is giving them until Friday, 29 AUG to get this cleared up; if they don't, it's OURS!

Inundate Heaven, all ye Storm2K prayer warriors, friends and passersby, with your prayers...we are SO close!
