oh, and it is night there and I think many went to bed finally. Totally exhausted after dealing with this for so many hours. Also those that don't have smart phones, may not be able to get online as some were stating their internet had gone out as well.

Any recent pressure data? I know that station on the island that went in the eye had 954 with near calm a few hours ago.

Based on that data around 1200Z and likelihood it may have been a bit deeper nearby in the large eye, it is likely the pressure then was about 952mb when the center went over the islands near Okinawa.

That would normally translate in the Atlantic to about 110 kt, and in the Pacific to about 100 kt. However, it was much larger and less convective than usual, so it was certainly quite a bit weaker than that. The 80 kt intensity estimate from JTWC seems correct to me.

This may be a long shot, but any reports of damage coming out of Okinawa or anyone there have anything?

Rob this has been my best place to get any info so far. Been kind of quiet though the last couple of hours. Think people may have finally passed out from exhaustion, maybe?

No doubt about that artist. A lot of anxiety over the storm takes a toll on the body
