Gert is just far enough east to not really give Bermuda any effects from the look of the radar.

If Gert does not become a Hurricane, we'll stand at 7/0/0, which has never happened since records began in 1851. Just throwing that out there.

Oh-for-seven appears to be pretty much wrapped up unless it really gets together in a hurry...it isn't vertically stacked and is running out of warm water quickly.

Looks like it'll be up to Harvey now.
Back in 2003, the EPAC didn't get its first hurricane until Ignacio. Interestingly, after the first 8 storms failed to reach hurricane strength, 7 of the next 8 storms became hurricanes.

This season is already historic in the fact that the Atlantic has never before seen the first 7 storms not reach hurricane strength.
