BTW, this is a really tough forecast and I love what the NHC decided on. Those guys always make the best decisions no matter how tough the forecast gets.
Like I said before, if the center goes on a track just north of Honduras, or even the official NHC track, the northeast to eventually northwest winds along the Honduras coast will push up against the mountains that are slightly inland and this can actually give a boost to vorticity. The same thing happens to storms moving just south of Hispaniola. I think that aspect contributes to the fact that the center could be slightly inland tomorrow morning and yet it could still intensify into a TS, especially because all of the other needed factors for intensification are so positive.
Also, that donut ring at the center must have made them realize this is a strong circulation and it will be tough to dissipate it. (See their discussion.)

IR is one of the worst tools to locate the center especially in weak systems but if the looks aren't deceiving I agree that the center will pass far enough from the coast to prevent much weakening and may allow a little more strengthening, but again it's difficult to locate the center with IR imagery. This is an unofficial and amateur opinion.
